Old World Blues Trailer is Waiting For You

A new trailer for the Fallout: New Vegas [http://www.amazon.com/Fallout-New-Vegas-Pc/dp/B002SU4QG4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1310416297&sr=8-3] DLC Old World Blues is out and it's looking, well, pretty goofy.

I have no idea what's going on in this trailer but it looks awfully damn weird. Cool, yes, in a Fallout [http://www.amazon.com/Star-Trek-Original-Episode-Spocks/dp/6300213641/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1310416337&sr=8-6].

In Old World Blues, the player ends up trapped in a pre-war research center in the Big Empty and forced to take part in a bizarre experiment that, in the finest tradition of Fallout, goes terribly wrong. The DLC promises to reveal the origins of some of the wasteland's mutated beasts and will give players the opportunity to take down their kidnappers or team up with them to face off against a possibly even greater threat.

I generally prefer my post-apocalyptica played straight, like Metro 2033 [http://www.amazon.com/S-T-L-K-R-Shadow-Chernobyl-Pc/dp/B0001X5YN4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310416453&sr=8-1] or even the original Fallout, so I'm not quite sure what to make of this. It does look very groovy - and the cheesy drive-in horror-fest opening is a great touch - but I'm not sure how seriously I can take an end-of-the-world scenario that makes a priority out of getting my brain back.

The Fallout: New Vegas DLC Old World Blues comes out on July 19 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I'm not sure how straight you can actually take Fallout. I mean, it's always been kind of goofy, though not to the extent of this trailer.

Heck though, I'll be getting this.

I'm glad to see them doing something with the NV dlc that is completely 'out there.' This looks very fun, and very weird.

Played straight like the original Fallout.

Admittedly, I haven't played much of the first two, but I think the only Fallout that was serious was Fallout 3, and that wasn't even fully canonical.

Love it...idk if I want to buy on release date though...DLCs in FO3 was buggy the first week after release...idk about the other DLC for New Vegas...I didn't get it until later.

Oh, and who's the voice of the opening narration? He sounds familiar, like I've heard him on cartoons before, but I can't place the name...

kind of sounds like proffessor Farnsworth, but a liitle different.

OK maybe I'm the only person in the universe who liked Fallout Tactics but dammit if anything needs to be made into DLC is that story and those enemies. 3D scale Behemoth walking tank that raises clouds of dust when it steps and blows everything away with BIG FREAKING LASERS.
