Grand Theft Auto V "Official Trailer" Puts the Band Back Together

[video=8008]
The Grand Theft Auto V "Official Trailer" sets up a story of three bad men in a very bad town.

Just when you think you're out, they pull you back in, am I right? The Grand Theft Auto V "Official Trailer" that rolled out today is awfully brief but looks awfully good as it sets up the tale of Michael, Trevor and Franklin and their exciting adventures on the streets of Los Santos!

The trailer has all the elements you'd expect from Grand Theft Auto: fast cars, sharp dialog, great music, explosions and bad behavior all around. Having three main characters opens up some very cool storytelling possibilities as well, although I've never had much luck forging a coherent narrative out of a GTA game - I'm way too easily distracted by Rockstar's amazing open worlds to worry about things like "plot."

Not much more to say here, really: It's a fantastic trailer for what promises to be the biggest and most ambitious GTA yet. Grand Theft Auto V arrives on September 17 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Amazing trailer. I clocked more hours in San Andreas than any other game before or after it. But I have a feeling I'll spend a lot more time in this new world. It just looks like everything I ever wanted out of GTA and then some. There are things there that I didn't know I want until I saw them.

I think you meant "bad men" rather than the singular, mr. Chalk ;).

That said, that trailer looks fantastic. San Andreas is (making me a rarity) my least favourite city of the GTA settings, however they've managed to get me interested despite that.

Looks as beautiful as it should be. It really does seem to be everything a GTA should be.

First game I will be participating at a midnight launch for.

I think the dev team of Saints Row 4 just wet their pants and not in a small way either. Too bad nothing conclusive about the PC release yet.

Let's hope they will follow up with that news shortly after GTA V gets released for the consoles.

great trailer and perfect song for it, but it's a shame the comments section is flooded with PC people downing the console release and console consumers themselves.

I'd say it's for the best it remain for the two consoles.

I feel somehow, less enthused by this trailer.

Maybe it's that old salty feeling that I wish they'd make another game in Vice City.

Still looks great. Like the characters, like the environment and I like the look of the online.
Though I still haven't seen a gameplay trailer, I at least want that ... otherwise this game seems too good to be true.
I don't want that, I want GTA V to be the last big achievement of this console generation!

I only hope that it goes well from here on out.

Oh boy, they probably did when they saw the multiple trailers for this.
BUT I bet they shat their pants when they saw Australia refusing to classify their game.
... I'm still sore about that, I hate waiting.

The worst part is that when SR IV releases here, I only have 5 days to play it before GTA V wipes it out. O-O

Loving the music in the trailer that I already downloaded and am listening to right now. I'm still worrying how the PS3 version will hold up compared to the PS4 version. Especially since my PS3 made Far Cry 3's texture eat shit and lagged the hell out.

I honestly just don't get this. Not saying you're wrong, but Vice City to me is clearly the worst of the series. The city is just too damn flat, its boring to drive in. The story was essentially lifted from Scarface, but I won't hold that against it, in the early years, the story was more of a vehicle to the mayhem than much else. I guess since it made the improvements GTA3 needed and SA perfected, it has a nostalgic spot but... Shit, I never wanna go back to vice city. Give me san fierro and Las venturas dlc, hell, gimme London 1969, just not that flat tract of land. Also, Florida gangster can't swim whaaaa?

Thank you for the video.
I officially take that comment back.

This is going to be aweeeeesome~
The gameplay here takes a lot of cues from Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3 (thank god, the gameplay in GTA IV was very lackluster in comparision to most action games)

Anyone else catch C.J's (GTA S.A) voice at the 0:07 mark?

This does look like a fun game, but I was hoping the Playable Characters from 3, V.C and S.A would have made up the trio.

And thank Rockstar for that. When I saw the weapon wheel in the trailer linked to my other comment, I made a fist for victory. The gameplay was very much like Max Payne too, which I'm glad about as well.

... this is only making me even more pumped up for it. :D

Thats the thing though. after spending 800+ hours in san andreas multiplayer (and another 400 in singleplayer) i feel... dissapointed. especially after how crappy gta 4 was i feel that this would need to be a real masterpiece to stand its ground. san andreas is STILL fun to play. lets just hope it wont dissapoint, though that didnt work with 4.

Ah, looks like im not alone in hating Vice City. it wasnt a bad game per se, but it was the worst of the series indeed. the cityi s boring, the story i dont even remmember, and i remmeber gta 3s story quite nicely. and it kinda felt dead with what we could do as well. the only prominent feature i remember is buying houses, that is, since you had too much money you bought them all at once.

glad I'm not alone here. As a rockstar junkie, I've torn apart every inch of nearly every game by them, and vice city was just... Blah. But there's so much love for it in the community. Even more confusing is the love for Tommy vercetti, one of the worst main characters, right behind niko bellic. CJ, Luis, and Johnny Klebitz are the best. And Claude speed of course
