Yoko Ono "Gave Harmonix Hell" Over The Beatles: Rock Band

The Beatles: Rock Band [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoko_Ono].

Basing a game on The Beatles [http://www.thebeatles.com/] is a daunting task. Expectations are sky-high. There's a wealth of material to draw from but even the slightest misstep will be amplified a hundred-fold by the harsh judgment of millions of Beatles fans worldwide. And then there's Yoko Ono.

Ono's involvement in the development of The Beatles: Rock Band had been minimal, according to Harmonix [http://www.wired.com/gaming/gamingreviews/magazine/17-09/mf_rockband?currentPage=4] studios in Boston, have a look at things and offer some helpful, constructive feedback.

"She gave the designers hell," said Paul DeGooyer, senior vice-president at MTV Games. Speaking somewhat more charitably, Alex Rigopulos, Harmonix co-founder and CEO, added, "She's an artist, so she was very concerned with the look of the game. She really held our feet to the fire."

Among her suggestions were that the game's final scene, the Beatles' famous concert on the roof of the Apple Corps building in 1969, wasn't windy enough and she was also apparently critical of the graphics. With only three months to go before E3 [http://www.e3expo.com/] and the game's planned debut, "We were like, oh, gee. Thanks," Rigopulos said. "It would have been nice to know that six months ago, but yes, thank you very much."

The changes were made in time, however, and by all reports The Beatles: Rock Band is looking fantastic. But if by some chance it fails to sell and Harmonix falls apart as a result, well, we can always blame Yoko Ono.

If it makes the game better, then hell was probably worth it to them.
A little extra effort is a lot less worse than millions of angry fans :|

You don't go after one of the most sought after properties in music history and expect it to be a cakewalk. I wonder what will happen with the Michael Jackson game [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/92624-Rumor-Michael-Jackson-Stars-In-Upcoming-Mystery-Game].

I bet she just wants in so when the game sells millions of copies she can claim she helped out and demands some form of payment for it.

The scene isn't windy enough?? Talk about being pedantic. Most people will probably play it for the music, anyway. In a game like Rock Band, it's the most important aspect.

Who in Cthulhu name told Ono she could leave the land of Oz? Yoko Ono is the source of all Evil in the world. She is a black hole of misery sucking everything good into it.

She ruined The Beatles!!

Amen.

She probably only did this so she can claim she worked along with Harmonix and deserves to get a bigger cut of the sales.

Ahh Yoko Ono.
Is there anything she can't ruin?

It's a good thing the guys and gals at Harmonix can hold their tongue!
'Gee thanks'? Even if said sarcastically, I'm sure that took some restraint.

Forgive my young-ness and extreme ignorance, but what was it that Yoko did that caused the Beatles to be ruined? It was long before my time...

Truth be told, i dont like the look of the game period. To me its really creepy to see The Beatles rendered in stale, half human 3D graphics, superimposed over backdrops that in all likelyhood are very close to the drug induced hallucinations they were going through while writing quite a few of their songs. (Listen to Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds, Under The Sea, and a host of others and LIE to me by saying they weren't smashed out of their minds...). But if end up playing this game (and i probably will) it wont be for the graphics, it will be for the music.

And seriously, not windy enough? did she make some sort of witty remark after that that the people interviewed forgot to mention? it looks like Yoko is not only aging not so well, but is also turning into a bit of a *****...

ive played rock band a few times and i must say it was enjoyable, but i always thought i would have allot more fun hitting the plastic drums whit my friends if only there had been more wind, the lack of wind almost broke the game for me so its nice to see that harmonix are finally! working whit someone who understand my needs for wind.

She broke up probably the most influential pop culture figures of all time, never regretted it, turned one of their member's careers into a living shitstorm, and now shes ruing the one chance she had to NOT RUIN EVERYTHING.

Yoko ono, i hate you.

its perfectly ok silent, not many people understand either.

what she did was put
john lennon under the impression that the beatles were her idea, and so he would only go by HER suggestions, which really pissed off richard starky, paul mccartney, and george harrison.
They decided that since john was doing his own solo career for yoko that each of the beatles should break off and find something better to do then listen to what john wants what yoko wants to hear. their final concert was played on a roof in liverpool, and yes, it was a very windy day. that is how she broke up the beatles.

Seeing as she wasn't there for most of the bands musical output, and was instrumental in making the band fall apart, I think it would only be fair to say STFU Ono!!!

If this ruins the game, I'll have two things to blame Yoko for (the first one was breaking up the Beatles)

She married John Lennon (after making him divorce his first wife and leave her with very little) poisoned the friendship that the Beatles had, caused them to split up, then decided at some point she was part of the talent behind the Beatles fame...besides wailing like a banshee in John's solo career.
