I'm pretty sure the weapon is called Bubble Lead because the bubble leads you....lead as in follow the leader....I never thought twice about it.

BAD END [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bk5PWNcSweI&feature=player_embedded] for the headline writer.

Though I think this comment already made it's way to you via other means:

"And after the first paragraph I asked myself if he'd bring up Bubble Lead, and he did. Pretty good article.

As for the question on whether the MM franchise would be as fun with the same weapons but different setting, Krion Conquest is probably the only game that can answer that."

You missed a great opportunity to use Fallout 3 as a modern reference, I think.

Killing enemies by launching teddy-bears, using micro-chainsaws, flaming lawn-mower blades, and tiny warheads launched from the shoulder twists that game into something quite unique.
Well those are all pretty lethal sounding things, save the teddy bear but I imagine that firing one out of an air-gun could be pretty painful.

It's like the Halo series' needler. Pink crystals that fly and track you by seemingly magical means, impale themselves upon you and then explode definitely sounds pretty deadly if ridiculous.

I miss the days where jumping on people and spiting bubbles and ice and what not were common ways of killing enemies.
With the exemption of Nintendo, it's all about guns now. :-(

Best weapons I've seen were in the Worms games. Exploding sheep, yay!

Guilty Gear had some interesting ones, too.
Yes. Millia with the so discussed hair, anchors, guitars, yo-yos, sentient axe-keys...
