I watched a comparison video between the Dinklebot and the Northbot.
It's easier to hear what the Northbot is saying sometimes, compared to the Dinklebot, probably due to slightly better audio balance. But the writing is still the same...

There are two kinds of "The Writer" - you mentioned the one who considers any creation of his/hers the pinnacle of literary evolution, the other kind thinks of all of his/hers writing as utter shit. Both are often mistaken, though the first more profoundly than the other. All of it is just shit most of the time, not utter shit.

The gun play isnt amazing, its just the best consoles have right now

I feel like if they stripped out everything that makes Destiny a MMO and called back Frank O'Connor to write the story it would be an amazing game.

The main story has full cutscenes now, and various characters handle the voice-overs on missions. Missions are also broken out into various questlines that make more sense then the prior quasi-random way they appeared before as you levelled (The original game missions are 4 or 5 separate stories in the new system, for instance)


On the Ghost-voice debate, Dinklage and Nolan's readings of the original lines both highlight an obvious lack of direction in the Ghost's script. Dinklage is very serious and robotic, North reads it more like C-3po, and the script wobbles between a serious and comedic sidekick off and on. North's lines in the new stuff sound much more natural, and I'm guessing he may have improvised some or at least helped tweak them.

oh good, you beat me to it. I was gonna say, King isn't making money because they're a good developer of good games. They make money because Candy Crush is a good Skinner Box laid over an acceptably mediocre game.

Destiny could have been great. as someone who bought the digital deluxe edition, I was sold on the title, until I spent a good two or three months with it, and could no longer keep lying to myself and saying the game was any good. it had potential. so much potential. but it did nothing with that potential.
