I get the strange suspicion that unnamed henchman #2 will become a permanent member of this..."team".

Love the design of not-Tifa.

I laughed way too hard at this strip. Very Venture Bros. vibe to it. Doc Hammer is now the voice for Henchman Two there.

I concur. Might be that I've been watching the new season of VB and its coloring the view I have of the strip, but it totally works.

I was gonna call this guy a hypocrite since he was literally burning an orphanage a few pages ago... but then i realized that that was his co-worker.

Dayum, I get the feeling that this arc is gearing up to make him the only "good guy" of the story.

Is this going to pull a Bravely Default and make it turn out the Crystals were evil the whole time?

I'm hearing the Ray Romano-like voice of Henchman 24 from him. Go ahead, try it!
And, Go Team Venture! V

Still, he was watching over his coworker burning down an orphanage (well, he was handing out refreshments).
I don't think anyone here is going to come out looking all that great when all is said and done.

Not to mention Erin seems to have a thing for him because, well ... why strip the guy of all his clothes?
She didn't even leave him his socks! If that's not terrorism, what is?!

Half-naked sassbucket is best sassbucket.
Yeah, it takes guts to insult the leaders of a terrorist(?) group while naked and tied up and also in the custody of that group. They should really be paying that guy more.

The voice in my head has a lot of Pete White rubbed in it. Especially in that third panel.

My glob, she's still giving me Erin vibes...

Other than that, protesting is such a dangerous job... for those caught in the middle...

Whoa, spoilers!
Whoa, I double that!
Worse yet, incorrect spoilers! The crystals weren't themselves evil.

Not to say the game doesn't have big reveals later on, but that's not one of them. I don't think it's a spoiler to say that, since what fantasy game DOESN'T have a big paradigm shifting reveal later on.

Anyway, while I don't think McSmartass has much of a leg to stand on with the whole "helping burn down a hamlet" thing, I'm really hoping he stays around. Takes a special kind of personality to backtalk while nearly naked and surrounded by stupidly dressed nutjobs who keep blowing up your stuff.

That's what you do in (J)RPGs. You ruthlessly and mercilessly slaughter all who oppose your will while laughing like a deranged god of death "defeat" your foes, then steal "recycle" anything of value left behind.
