No mention of Leonard Nimoy? He seemed to add an air of credibility to it...until you met your fishman.
I'm pretty sure that had to be one of the selling points. Or at least why my Father was so keen on getting me to play that game when I was like nine and most of the references went over my head. It was the only thing I recognized at least.

(Now I know what he meant...)

I liked this article. Such a nice nostalgia bonus...and the reason why I plan on having a dog and not fish. Never fish. They just won't stand up to the snarky asshole quality that is Seamen. I miss you guys...

And then I'll go away again and realize I forgot to feed you again! Or that I ran out of food for the advanced fish. Or it's really awkward to talk to you guys after sex/eating the seaman I named (RIP Frank)/I had a life for a day.

Did that happen to anyone else? You go away for like a picnic...and come back and everyone is dead.

Seriously, the moment I heard that caring, yet matter-of-fact narration of, "I'm Leonard Nimoy, and I will be your guide." I was completely hooked.

How the hell they got to publish this as a buyable product baffles me.... We have so many great games that gets flushed down the drain, but this bizarre thing gets through? Baffled, I tell you! Baffled!
This is why I loved the Dreamcast. Who knew what weird shit might come out for it.

Raised a Seaman all the way to maturity, and it remains one of the most unique experiences on a video game console I've ever had.

Seaman was one of many reasons I wanted to get a Dreamcast. If there's two things I appreciate in art or fiction, it's anything that's ambitious or offbeat, and between the premise and the 'talk to your pet and it talks back in the worst possible way' mechanic, Seaman had both qualities.

I think... I want one of those fish thingies?

That game is so utterly bizarre I can't even begin to comprehend the thought behind it. Does that make it genius or just plain weird?
I am in the same boat.. I think.

Having a fish that asks you probing questions and makes wierd, rude jokes. Awesome...sort of. Slightly scary also. Like having your own pet perverted Socrates.

Pretty sure this is one of those times where Acid/Meth/Coke/Pot was involved. Or the developers just didnt care.

BUt yeah, I've played this game before. It still makes me shudder.

This was a great, yet odd game. I liked the microphone for it. It was an odd experience. My college buddies and I would crack open a few beers and see if we could get it to talk shit to us.
