I'm liking the idea that game owners get the remasters for free, now only if this can somehow make its way to consoles.
I imagine because Infinite hasn't been out very long, a little over 3 years ago. Burial at sea is maybe 2 years old.Damian Porter said:Why isn't Infinite being remastered? Is that one just a 1080p "remaster" for current consoles?
Excellent, given that I just saw all three Bioshock games for sale on Steam last night for 10 bucks and went... yeah why not. Bonus!ffronw said:As far as I can tell, if you own the games on Steam, you'll get the updated version for free. I'm not saying I'd go buy them on the Steam sale, but I think I'd go buy them on the Steam Sale if I didn't have them already.JUMBO PALACE said:So wait, if I buy Bioshock 1 right now during the Steam sale for peanuts I'll get the remaster for free?
Wait? MP was required in BS2? I haven't gotten around to playing it(I have it on steam....somehow, despite not remembering purchasing it) but that does not make me want to try it.Ten Foot Bunny said:Took the words right out of my mouth! Despite me snipping part of your post to clarify what I wholeheartedly agreed with, that is.Saelune said:*snip* Bioshock 2 *snip* multiplayer achievements. So now I can play Bioshock 2 on PC and not worry about multipayer achievements, yay.
Curse my completionist ways. I never started Bioshock 2 because I didn't want a game on my card that I couldn't finish without hours and hours of pointless grinding. I love the fact that the game is coming back without the once-obligatory multiplayer mode. It ruined Dead Space and F.E.A.R., so it's nice we're going to see Bioshock 2 as a creative tour de force, unchained from atmosphere-killing dickheads spawn camping and teabagging each other.
MP isn't required to complete the game itself, but you have to suffer through it if you want to get all of the achievements.Dalisclock said:Wait? MP was required in BS2? Thanks for clearing that up. I was gonna have words for....someone if MP was required to play the main game.Ten Foot Bunny said:MP isn't required to complete the game itself, but you have to suffer through it if you want to get all of the achievements.Dalisclock said:Wait? As an achievement whore, I still have plenty of words for someone. Actually, I never bought Bioshock 2 because of the MP achievements and not wanting to start those up. Now I have an excuse to buy the remaster AND never buy the original. Double win!Dalisclock said:Thanks for clearing that up. If that's the case then should I just buy the games on Steam now for $5 and get a free upgrade to the remastered version, thus saving myself paying full price?EndlessSporadic said:"Will retail for 60 USD"
Why would I buy that if I can get all 3 games for $5 from any Steam sale and the games still hold up extraordinarily well?
"Free upgrade for PC gamers"
I stand corrected. Way to go, 2K.
I'd be cautious. They'll likely say only people who bought the games before a certain date are eligible for the upgrade. Either way, the three games are a steal for $10 USD (the current discounted price). Even if you aren't eligible for the upgrade later I highly recommend the regular versions.pearcinator said:If that's the case then should I just buy the games on Steam now for $5 and get a free upgrade to the remastered version, thus saving myself paying full price?EndlessSporadic said:"Will retail for 60 USD"

I actually want to know this because I also plan to get the Skyrim remaster and if I can get it for that much cheaper that would be great!
I think I'll wait. I've played Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite on my 360. Never played Bioshock 2 but now I got a boss PC I'll buy the remaster on that. Same goes for Skyrim (although I've never owned Skyrim, played the shit out of Oblivion though).EndlessSporadic said:I'd be cautious. Fair enough. People hate on Bioshock 2 for reasons I simply can't see, but it is still an extremely solid game that feels like it belongs in the series. It's better to think of it as a supplement to the world building than as a sequel to the first game. You'll have much more fun playing the game if you go into it with that mentality. Rapture is an absolutely incredible thing from a world design perspective.pearcinator said:I think I'll wait. I've played Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite on my 360.
