Marc Ecko to Make Return to Gaming

Bad news folks, Marc Ecko wants to make Getting Up 2, once he's sorted some stuff out with Atari

If there are gods of gaming, then they hate us, for they have sent forth Marc Ecko to punish us for some grave misdeed. But what form will their vengeance take? Why a sequel to the deeply mediocre Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure of course!

Fake theology aside, Marc Ecko's relationship with gamers is an odd one; he clearly hates us [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/93412-Marc-Ecko-Creates-the-Worlds-Ugliest-Halo-T-Shirts] and yet can't bear to leave us alone and is dedicated to making his vision of a sequel to the largely ignored Getting Up a reality.

"Getting Up was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. Atari shit the bed, you know? And I'm gonna f*cking make that game again if it kills me. I'm gonna do it. I want to see the brand out there again," said Ecko is his unique and colourful manner

"Imagine if given the opportunity in this market and the velocity of the market, and all the developments within the hardware," he explained. "what we could do with that genre. I feel really confident that we can do something meaningful and fun, regardless of the rough around the edges road of getting it to the market," he continued.

Well I played Getting Up, and I actually really liked it. If they can nail a sequel it could be really good, as long as it's not exactly the same as the first.

Getting Up wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. It was just 'meh'.

Anyways, he should stick to what he does best, which is... uh..

I testify to his obscurity and his game's obscurity by not knowing who the hell he is or his game.

Marc Ecko, I shall now erase my memory of your name and game to keep you in obscurity.

He really enjoys spending money and taking a loss on his investments....

Bad games will still be bought, but they never do well.

I liked Getting Up. It was like JSRF except a lot less colorful and you had to actually move around to finish the tag. Hopefully the second one will be made.

He sounds like an idiot, never played Getting Up though so I'm not going to judge him on his poor manners.

What the hell? Getting Up was awesome and got pretty favorable reviews Oo

I hope his "return to gaming" won't be as hideous as his Halo 3 shirts: http://xbox.joystiq.com/2009/07/24/new-halo-themed-ecko-shirts-rival-everything-for-ugliest-anythin

Marc Ecko was outspoken in his response to these critics, describing gamers as "the guys who got wedgies in high school" and "divas" with a "predisposition to have a bug up their ass for anything urban", who dismissed the game as riding on the coat-tails of Grand Theft Auto solely for having a black character on the cover. The reviewers, he says, are "slaves to the code" and not "slaves to the branding, products, or experience" as he would prefer, and they unfairly compare the game to better-received titles, such as Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Yeah, this totally sounds like the kind of guy we want to have making games for us.

So, what he's saying is OMG, how dare you dislike it cause the gameplay is crap - is totally COOL, and you're just too nerdy to get it!?

Basically. The game was pretencious from the start. Notice he says he wishes they were slaves to the branding, products, or experiance. Marc Ecko is a brand whore. He's a carpet bagger like Kotick, and just wants our money.

Which is not to say I didn't like the IDEA of his game. A mirror's edge/revolution X/the Warriors vibed kind of game would be awesome sauce, even if it was about...graffiti.

Exactly what I thought about Getting Up. It has potential but was ruined by alot of things. If he can actually pay attention and work carefully on this game it'll be a fun little game

Getting up: Under pressure, sounds like the logo for a Viagra ad.

But who knows maybe it'll be good.

i had an hard time understanding what he was saying, but apparently he wants to make a new game, a sequel to a game that all us smelly, ugly, fat nerds never 'got' because we aren't street, well i cant say i care, each month theres several releases i dont care about and when this gets released (i dont think he has to worry about dieing in the process, game production is fairly safe) i wont care about any more than i will about the newest click and point adventure game whit pop culture references instead of a story.
