Ok, my hard drive is almost full but I would like to add more games. I've deleted just about everything I can but still have just enough space to small things like game saved and dlc. I would like to however download from games on demand, so my question to you my wonderful fellow Escapists is how much space to games on demand take and what involves transferring the data I have on my current hard drive to a new one if I buy it.

Note, that I have the default hard drive that came with the original 360 if you bought it in 07. Also it's not a desperate need just something that I would like to do since I have some Christmas money left over.

I would assume that a games on demand will take up 4-7 big ones, just like any game you try and install on your hard drive. I have trouble installing more than one game with the hard drive that comes with the original 360, so your best bet would probably be to buy another hard drive with more space.

Transferring data, look up.

If you buy a 120 gig hard drive, it'll set you back 150 bucks, but you also get a transfer cable and instructions on how to transfer the data from your old HD to your new one.

Would be the same with the 20 gig?

Why would you buy another 20 gig when the one you have is running out of space?

That's 20? I thought it was ten. I'm fairly certain mine is only 10 but I may be wrong.

In any case, if you intend to keep DLing lots of games and such, you may just want to bite the bullet and get the HD you'll probably need eventually anyway.

Im fairly sure the standard 360 HDD is 20G. There is a 60GB if you don't have enough cash for the 120. You may even be able to pick up a preowned one for a bit cheaper. Though I work in a games store and its very hard to pick up preowned hardware this time of the year.

Also you might want to bear in mind that you can probably re-download most of the stuff you download from LIVE once you have your account on your new hard drive. Might save you some data transferring.

They never made a 10GB hard drive. It's 20 or 60, since you said it's the 'original' 360, whatever that means. If you've managed to fill it up without installing a load of games, it's pretty safe to assume it's 20.

Like people said, if you buy the 120GB you'll get the transfer cable and instructions with it. Job done.

Personally, I'm waiting for the 250GB to become available separately. It's getting to the point where 120 isn't enough.

There is no 10G 360 HD. It doesn't exist. There's 20, 60, and 120. also, if you buy a used 120G it won't come with the transfer cable, just FYI.
