Draw distance would be the game, not your cables.

Wait, is your TV 1080 or 720? Cos if you have 720 you need to set it to that, surely?

You have to connect them all to the composite connection on your tv, it requires all 5 :)
It's component. :p

I'm using a scart adapter on my HDtv as it doesn't have the A/V R/W/Y plugs. The official tutorial thingy on the xbox website says to leave the yellow cable unplugged... I'm thinking it's not working because of the scart adapter...
Scart can't do HD resolutions, I think it's stuck at 480p.
Potato/potahto according to google it is both ;-)
According to wikipedia, the yellow connector (usually paired with red and white connector's for audio) is composite, the Red, Blue and Green ones are component. :p

Wikipedia? Lol! ;-)I was talking about it as a whole thing, we are both right as I said. I'm not going to engage in a convoluted discussion over it, let's focus on helping the OP! :)

The cables look fine to me, I think you might want to move the white one to the right of the top red one, it looks they're supposed to be together. That's only audio though.

If the problem only occurs when you play some games then it can't be your cable setup otherwise you'd notice it more often and usually bad setups lead to no picture.

Could be something wrong with your console or TV but I'm guessing the connectors may be faulty.

heh, *trollface*...that's because 360 is a pile of sh-

actually I won't go down that road. Have you tried turning it on and off again? Have you checked that the power is on, sir? Are you sure it is an Xbox 360?
rinse and repeat.

Your red audio cable is in the wrong spot, that spot above the inputs is for audio output. The red and white audio cables should be plugged into the ports to the left of the video cables. Other than that it looks fine.

The white cable looks like it's in the wrong place. I think it should be next to the red one. Above the red/grey one.

Listen to this guy, the red audio cable does look to be in the wrong place- it's plugged into the "audio out"- you need it to be plugged into the "audio-in". Also the white cable is not in the "white" plug in- but this should not make a much of a difference other than having your Left/Right audio backwards.

Here is what I would do, turn the Xbox to HD like you already have but I understand you are lacking sound. Keep the game running while you trial and error the audio cables to the back of the TV.

If the sound still doesn't work then there maybe something wrong with your sound board on the Xbox 360- kind of strange if your sound works if you have it set to SD instead of HD...

One more thing- make sure someone has not messed with the TV settings to only allow for Left/Right audio- the red audio should be for the "right" side- however it looks like you have the white plug in the "red" spot, so you will not get any "left" audio output through your TV.
If someone has programmed your TV to only allow for "right" side audio, you will not get any sound- so, plug the white audio cable in the correct spot and go to the TV menu and check audio options.

Let us know if you find a fix.
