Well, you have a lot of options depending on your tastes
sandbox-RPG elements: You'll love Oblivion, and it'll last you years and has a ton of replay value, and is a timeless classic, just MAKE SURE to keep the disc very clean, it can get ugly if you don't.
Definitely, I've been meaning to pick this up sometime too. Forgot about it, though: thanks for the reminder.
You can also Get Fallout 3, which is pretty much oblivion in the future, but it's great gameplay and high level of polish makes it stand out.
Already got for the PS3. Bit of a pisser about the DLC, but it's coming.
Farcry 2 is another great game, if you liked Fallout. The map creator is by far the best map editor I have ever seen on a console, and it continues to swallow untold hours of my life. One of it's selling points is it's different taste. I can't describe it here, but it's worth renting.
I grabbed this one for PC, actually, before it stopped running games. I'm waiting to upgrade the PC again, but it was pretty awesome.
Fable II is very fun, but isn't as good as some of the others listed here. Add in DLC, and it's much better.
I've heard lots of great things about this, so it'll definitely be on my "to-get" list.
GTA IV is good if you like modern day shooters. In fact, GTA IV is a must have, even if it doesn't appeal to you directly because it defines it's Genre. GTA IV has one of the Deepest story lines I've seen in a game, and it's worth it's praise
Got for the PS3 already.
JRPG elements: If you liked final fantasy, get Lost Odyssey. It is a very traditional RPG that actually has a worthwhile story behind it. It's great for fans of Square's works.
OR there is another: Tales of Vesperia. TOV's only selling point is it's multiplayer aspect. You can run through the story alone, (RPG style Lengthy story) or with 3 friends over for Seamless co-op story action. Other than that TOV is average.
I love couch co-op, so I'll definitely take a look at
Tales of Vesperia. I haven't heard much about
Lost Odyssey, though, so thanks for that recommendation.
First person Shooter: You struck gold with BioShock. But other than that you Want CoD4, it has become so monumental that not having is slightly disabling.
CoD:WaW is only a worthy buy if you're into FPS's, it's pretty much Old-School CoD4, and is not as good.
Left 4 Dead: Is the coolest zombie game I know, along with a definite buy because you will never put it down. The whole game in one sentence: Survive the zombie Apocalypse with your friends! (XboxLive Highly recommended)
The orange box is a blend of three great games. You have First-person-shooter Nirvana which is Half-life 2, Online team multiplayer FPS Nirvana which is Team Fortress 2, and A marvelous game called Portal, which is one of the best Puzzle games to date. (XboxLive Highly recommended)
Already got all of these for PC. If only it would run games. *tear*
Platformers:
Devil May cry 4: Is frantic and fast pace, guaranteed to get your blood going. I would rent this one also, but it isn't for the easily frustrated, it's a hard game.
I've never been much for the
Devil May Cry series, but I'll give it a look.
Ninja Gaiden 2: The fricking BLOODIEST game you will ever play. It's uuber ninja action is some of the best action fighting platforming out there, and I highly recommend renting this one also, it is short.
I'll have to look into this. Cheers!
Banjo and Kazooie N&B: Is a great game where you design your entire arsenal of Vehicles from the ground up, add in a quirky art style and a decent length and you get a very great gem of a game.
Oh, sweet, another one that I had forgotten about. I will definitely have to track this one down.
Fighting: Cant explain them much, but the best are:
Soul Calibur 4
&
Street fighter 4
We'll see. The only fighting games I've ever enjoyed have been
Super Smash Bros., and that was only in passing. But I'll take a look.
RTS:
Halo wars is the best RTS for XBOX, mostly because it was designed for the XBOX from the ground up.
I've been back and forth about this one, but I suppose it'd be worth a try.
Command and Conquer: Red alert 3: is good, but only worth it if you love RTS's, otherwise it isn't bad.
Already got for PC.
Games with less of a Genre:
Guitar Hero world tour, or Rock band. they are Very much the same, although Rock band has WAAAY more DLC.
Assassins Creed: Cant live without this very innovative( Best controller mapping I have ever played with), but slightly repetitive rental game.
Already got for PS3.
DoNot's:
Perfect dark: Zero: is not very good, and it's also poorly made. The multiplayer is awful, and if you're a fan of Perfect dark, this puts the name to shame.
I can't give much other direction than that, good luck man. Anyone else, add things I forgot.[/quote]
Haha, thanks. I'll take all this into consideration, man. Thanks for pointing out some awesome titles.
Cheers!
