This game seems to be a huge point of contention amongst the gaming community, and after playing the demo I think I know why.

I find myself having mixed feelings about the game. The control mapping took some getting used too, but after I got the hang of it the game was a lot of fun. The action was smooth and intuitive after about 5 minutes of adaptation, and the story/characters were interesting. Norse myths have always been an appealing subject to me, and the new take on the legends is fresh without totally throwing out the source material. The Diablo-esque character advancement and equipment promise a lot of customization fun, and I like the fact that you can find and make new items as you go.

All of this good is, however, is weighed against the most retarded camera I've ever had to play against. Yes, I mean against. I imagine the camera being on this hovering platform under the control of one of those goblins.

Anyway, I am wondering what the general opinion amongst the forum rats who've played the demo was. Most comments I've seen were either "loved it" or "this bites." Not a lot in between. I think I'm going to buy the game, I did enjoy the demo in the end, but that camera is giving me pause.

I played the demo and had no expectations whatsoever but thought it was "meh" at best.
I may buy it later on, but only if the price has been severely reduced.

I see a worst camera of 2008 competition feature a slug fest between Ninja Gaiden 2 and Too Human. I loved NG2, but after beating it... I sadly remember more headaches than fun unlike the first one, where even the headaches were against memorable bosses that just kicked my but instead of being rediculously cheap...

Possible NG2 Spoiler if you can have a Spoiler in a game with zero Plot:

When you fight the Fire lord the 2nd time, you beat him and then dont realize there are lava jellyfish (WTF?!) that match the color of the lava that blow your ass to hell and back and force you to replay boss AGAIN which, that boss took little skill in that I just luckily threw combos at it to victory after trying for a strategic win for about 10 deaths.

As for Too Human, I like the Music, the feeling, and the approach. The Loot whore in me wants it, but I just really don't like the animation of attacks and the crap ass camera and the bloom :(

If I were to pick it up, it would be entirely for the sake of the multiplayer.

And I don't think that's a good enough reason, honestly.

"This bites" over here. I even went back and played all the other classes, and the only difference aside from different starting weapons was that some killed enemies faster than others...

I'm also one of the ones that absolutely hated the camera in the game too. That it kept cutting away from the player, or when it was supposed to be on the player instead pointing in the absolute opposite direction from which I wanted to attack.

As for multiplayer I can't see why I'd wanna put a friend of mine through the boredom I experienced on my first play of the demo.

Overall it might have just been a crappy demo (dialogue in the cutscenes tells a different story mind you), but I'll probably skip out on this game.

I played the demo, and I have mixed feelings. I see potential there, so much potential. The leveling up seems to be rather weak and I never did get used to the combat system. I would agree that the camera is being controled by blind retarded monkeys, but I have beat NG2, so I could deal with that. I like playing co-op online, Gears and such, so this has that potential, but I'm going to read some reviews before I fork out cash. And even then it will be a used copy, because I get the feeling there will be plenty of used copies.

Buying it, for a combination of multiplayer and the little lootwhore inside me who must have it. The demo suffers from a few faults, including the fact that it explains and demonstrates so little of the game unless you actually get into it and find the extra secrets and such. After playing through the demo more times than i care to admit, I got the camera mostly tamed.

The real appeal to me is in the loot system all together. Im sure it wont be everyones favorite, but me and a friend will be playing it to death to see all the shiny things we can collect. The combat is fast, and its as simple as you want it to be, and deeper than it first appears. Juggling, combo meter use, etc are all more important as you get better at the game. Im HOPING the game gets more difficult in later stages than the demo shows, theres alot of good potential there. Theres also endless ammounts of customization from just what i saw in the demo, which makes me hopeful that it will keep me busy for a while.

Maybe I just suck (OK, I probably do), but I got really sick of the unskippable Valkyrie cut scene whenever I died.

Also, had some serious flashbacks to Phantasy Star Online. Back in high school, it was the only game my little brother played for over a year. Enough already!

I think the main problem is trying to squeeze a game that's main attraction (for me at least) is being an 'epic' story. If Mass Effect had released a demo then it would probably suffered similar problems, and Too Human really felt like Mass Effect with a different setting and style of gameplay.

On that evidence, I'm probably going to buy it anyway, especially in this somewhat game deprived season.

If it turns out anywhere near as good as Mass Effect I'm going to count myself lucky.

I also had mixed views on the demo. The story seems interesting, but the controls and the camera were a little annoying. The more I played it, the more I like it but it didn't really strike me as the best control scheme they could have used.

I didn't like it, the combat was poor and the camera terrible, the graphics wern't particularly immpressive and the story confusing
