That about sums this "letter" up. Sickening, really.
I just do not get people like you. What is the point of trolling? Does it genuinely make you feel better about yourself to have wasted some of your time to become a minor annoyance to an anonymous stranger? Christ, you don't even appear to be making an effort; this post looks like it was copy-pasted from the Big Book Of Dumb Things To Say Because You Can't Even Be Arsed To Come Up With Anything Original. It baffles me. Have you really and truly got nothing better to do than this, and even with nothing better to do are you so lazy and demotivated that you won't even put any effort into being a pest?

People are sure to respond with the usual gubbins about not rising to your bait, that somehow by garnering responses you've "won", but that's utterly ridiculous. You lose, man. By the very fact you feel the need to come onto a forum and troll people, you've failed. Is that so hard to understand? That the very fact you had time and inclination to go into an unrelated thread and paste by-the-book half-hearted trolling makes you a failure?

I suppose it must be pretty hard to grasp. If it were simple to understand, I guess we wouldn't have trolls anymore.

"But maybe it'll do some good, too, even if it's only to convince a few people to pay more attention to what they're getting themselves into when they're considering similar offers in the future."

...Because industry jobs flow so fast and free, one must take a step back to avoid drowning in the unending torrent. It must be hard to turn down a job in the industry, especially today with so many people clawing and jostling for the same positions. I'm sure everyone at 38 were happy to get games industry work, and for those who passed it up there were dozens tripping over themselves to take their place. If it didn't happen to these specific people, it would have still happened to others. Sure, everyone should take their time and fully understand what they agree to, but I think we should be much more concerned with companies like this being deceitful and striving to make them less so. They definitely should be held accountable for lost wages.

Current society has an attitude of zero accountability and responsibility. Maybe it has always been this way, I can only speak for now, and it definitely feels like it has gotten a lot worse since I've been alive. We see example after example of companies reporting everything is just fine until the moment of final collapse. There is zero honestly about imminent collapse until after it has happened. Those with the inside knowledge of it happening could plan accordingly and those without got screwed. This has come to be seen as acceptable, anticipated behavior, rather than criminal negligence, dishonestly, and possible fraud.

The only thing I disagree with her on is that taxpayers in Rhode Island should keep a poorly performing company afloat. If the company is as bad as she says, why should people who pay taxes be expected to perpetuate it?

Overtime without compensation is one of those really mehhhh things to ***** about.

As a salary employee I am not paid overtime. Do I work hard to meet deadlines and occasionally miss planned events or due to time spent? Sure. Of course I do so for BONUSES. Now it's gotta suck if the game goes horribly and no bonuses are dolled out, but isn't that a normal risk of the job? I mean I've never worked in the gaming industry and I know that they get some mighty nice pay offs if the games sell well, and are sol if they don't.

Isn't saying, "Wahhhh I worked hard and didn't get overtime." A bit dumb?

LOLwut? Kingdoms of Amalur did pretty damn well.
Not really, KOA needed to sell 3 million units to make a profit. They had sold around 1.3-1.4 million units.
1. Number based on "because ponies"

2. they sold that amount in a single month.

Especially considering the amount that barely last a year, or the ones that after the first year have to go freemium just to stay afloat.
Freemium, of course, being a legit business model which actually makes money. I know it's trendy to treat them with disdain because they're considered a failure, but it's a load of crap.
