I will probably purchase a 3DS XL fairly soon. I have a DSi XL and was wondering if I should sell it towards getting a 3DS XL. I was wondering how good the backwards compatibility is. My main concern I have noticed is the 3DS's top screen is larger than the bottom screen. That seems like it might throw some DS games out of whack. Also, I've read that there is some resolution issues.

I still have quite a bit of DS games that I plan on playing. So, should I hang on to the DSi XL when I get my 3DS?

I've never had a problem playing 3DS games so stop worrying and upgrade to a 3DS, ALL DS games play and look the same

Yep, you might see a small rise in pixelation if you play on full screen on the XL, but hold down select and start whilst you launch the DS game and it'll play in original resolution mode, which basically means there's no pixelation and it looks exactly like the original DS. And DS games do actually work better on the XL, since the original resolution mode isn't as tiny as the normal 3DS. So yeah, feel free to trade in your DSi XL for some money and get a few games with it.
