If it is overkill sarcasm, I wont admit to it. Its likely the wizard rumour is true. Besides, if you know what are doing then you can make lightning strike the same place 3 times. Nintendo seems to know what they are doing.GeneticallyModifiedDucks said:That seems a bit overkill to me, even if it is just sarcasm. That's just too much.
Been price war'd down to £200. Aside from the aforementioned John Lewis, AFAIK Toys R Us, and Tesco are taking pre-orders at sub-£200.Jazoni89 said:That quite strange considering the UK was ripped the fuck off when it comes to the 3DS prices.
£230, you got to be having a laugh.
Yes but the original guy said primary controller, so i figured classic controller didn't count. I don't why he specified primary controller but hey, his rules. Plus from all the gamecube games I've played I can't think of any that used the c stick as camera control, so I don't think developers thought of it as a control stick. Also I intended it as a joke.More Fun To Compute said:It does count, but anyway.drisky said:The c stick doesn't count, it sucks. If it worked they wouldn't of had to think outside the box for how to shoot in games like Metriod Prime or Resident Evil 4
Still you don't really need another analog sick when you have the touch screen I think.
Monster Hunter Tri.
Ooo, topical burn.JDKJ said:Has someone called Patcher to ask him if 100,000-plus pre-orders is part of Nintendo's impending "doom?"
Fixed that for you.Mazty said:In other news it's official that awesome gimmicks are now ruling the game industry.
Bro, I was kidding. Take a damn chill pill.Mazty said:Well thanks for helping to make gaming worse for the rest of us by being entertained by something as deep as a puddle. How is being pseudo-3D going to make it any good other than 5 mins of "WOAH DID U SEE DAT?!" How is it going to actually make gaming any better or not thought that far ahead?Sparrow said:Yeah, the marketing campaign for the 3DS is brilliant. It's a minute of people staring at the 3DS and going "Wait, how the hell does that work?" before they reveal it's all 3D and that. Like in the way the Cadburys gorilla advert was awesome because it spent 30 seconds focusing on a motionless man in a gorilla suit inbetween a drum kit.

Seriously how can you say the Cadburys advert was good when it had fuck all to do with the product being sold? Doesn't that strike you as a little bit suspicious that they can't sell the product on it's strengths and instead use marketing nonsense instead?
In one way or another Gimmicks have always done so. Its up to the Devs to work around it. The 3D will probably be abandoned with the more "hardcore" games in a few years just like a lot of games did with the touch screen on the DS.Mazty said:In other news it's official that gimmicks are now ruling the game industry.
RIP Gaming.
It also need to be on viable platform that's cheap to develop for. The more hardware you put into a device the more expensive the device is when it comes out and to develop for. Also it creates certain expectations of visuals that not all studios can afford. I have both the PSP and a DS and I can say they both offer their own unique experiences. I don't think P3P would be able to run on a DS but at the same time I don't think SMT:SJ would have been made if not for the relatively cheap production costs on the DS.Mazty said:Well with last gen consoles and handhelds (prior DS) there were no gimmicks, just more horsepower to help create games. It's a shame the DS is so successful when the PSP has more potential as all a game needs is hardware power - anything tacked onto that (2nd screen, touch screen, motion etc) is just convoluting the essentials of a game. Such a shame that the market is so impressionable.SanguineSymphony said:In one way or another Gimmicks have always done so. Its up to the Devs to work around it.
