I haven't seen a launch this bad since the Kinect. Every game except for SF4 and Ridge Racer is getting hammered by the critics and for good reason. This launch is seriously embarrassing for Nintendo. But hey, what do they care. People would buy there systems no matter how flimsy they were, just so they could play the same Pokemon or Mario game with different colors for the millionth time. I was thinking about getting the 3DS, but after the hardware and software reviews, I think I'm better off just playing Angry Birds on my Android phone.

This is different from any other Nintendo Launch Setup how?
I can't remember a single console of them that started with a top title. Guess it is the most profitable thing to do.

People get hyped over a new piece of tech and forget the issue if they actually want any of the games that are available.

Street Fighter IV is pretty damn good on it. And the AR stuff and face raiders is enough to keep people occupied.

I'm surprised there's no good first party products though. If it wasn't for SFIV and RR the whole thing would be dead in the water.

Am I the only one? Seriously, I laughed pretty hard at this. I mean, what were you expecting? A Nintendo console without their franchises on it?

And the launch title lineup has been released for months.

No reason to even get a 3DS right now. With that shitty battery life I would never get it.

Guess you forgot the Wii launched with Legend of Zelda!!! Also the DS had Mario 64, I know it wasn't anything new, but I enjoyed it and at least it was a must-have for the system. The 3DS literally has no must-have titles right now.

I preordered mine a while ago for no other reason then I got a $260 rebate from Costco and I couldn't find anything there really worth getting at the moment. The hardware is functional at best and I got bored in under an hour.

No good games guess Ill wait for persona or Zelda.

Wait for the awesome 3DS later when more features and hot franchises arrive on it. It'd be smarter right now to use that 250 bucks on a bunch of used games, AAA titles, DS budget games, etc.

I agree. I was considering getting a 3DS, but I can't justify the expense when its not offset by great games. Out of the entire launch line-up, I'd only consider getting Street Fighter IV. It needs a killer app, and I'm sure it will get one, once Ocarina of Time and Metal Gear Solid 3 are released for it, but until then I'll stick with my plain old DS Lite.

Uh, Nintendo SAID that they weren't using the standard lineup schedule from the getgo. In fact, the actual term they used was "Launch Window" [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/107096-Nintendo-Creates-3DS-Launch-Window-Not-Launch-Lineup]. More than 30 games should be released by June 7, according to them. Not all of them will be out as soon as the system is released. I'm not intending on getting the 3DS until August at least, but still. Patience is key with ANY new system.
