Those analyses are almost always lowballing. 56 dollars isn't a lot when you factor in distribution and the like, actually.direkiller said:3ds seem to cost about $100 to make

$60 is still plenty of room for them and the retailer to make some money
your kidding right retailers always take there cutZachary Amaranth said:Not to mention the retailer rarely makes more than a few cents in markup.
Seems like a great idea. The .50 Caliber Cow said:Kind of expected this to happen. 3D is cool now, 3DS is 3D. Christmas is coming. Kids need presents. Kids like video games. Kids really, really like Mario.
Hmmm....
Buy the kids Kinects!
%5 for consoles.direkiller said:your kidding right retailers always take there cutZachary Amaranth said:Not to mention the retailer rarely makes more than a few cents in markup.
standard retail markup on electronics is about 10%
cheep clothing is 90%(its why you always see something for 50%+ off and yea there still making money on that)
No, I'm not kidding.direkiller said:your kidding right retailers always take there cut

I still think the 3DS is just a DS with fancy graphics.
Can't be enough when Nintendo is projecting a billion dollar loss anyways.direkiller said:3ds seem to cost about $100 to makeAzrealMaximillion said:Considering they cut the price of the 3DS by 30% I hardly think it's printing anything but losses per console sold for Nintendo.DVS BSTrD said:http://spruchy.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/3ds-it-prints-money.gif

Exactly. This is why I didn't even bother buying a DS and I'm still happy with my Game Boy Micro.Phlakes said:...So it's like every other console iteration ever (at least handhelds)?Beautiful End said:Aaaaaand...I still don't want one.

But... the limited edition Zelda 3DS is available now.... There are no games out I currently want, and I'm still considering buying it because it looks so cool.Just_A_Glitch said:I'll probably pick up a 3DS when a Majora's Mask remake is announced. Didn't Nintendo already go on the record as saying that won't be happening for the foreseeable future, as the 3DS is already "packed" full with its components? Also, They're releasing a peripheral to add a second analog stick and extend battery life some time next year to coincide with the release of a Monster Hunter game.j-e-f-f-e-r-s said:I'll wait and see what happens when they release the next model of the 3DS. The DS didn't really take off until the Lite, and I'm guessing at some point soon Nintendo are going to release the next model of 3DS with two analogue nubs. I'm guessing that's when the 3DS will really start selling, and I may get myself one.
Aonuma kind of brought it up and hinted that he wanted to do it and asked for fan support, got the fan support, and then acknowledged the fan support saying he hoped to be able to do it sometime in the future. They aren't totally ignoring that fans are interested.OutrageousEmu said:If it comes at all, consiering it is just a fan request, which Nintendo enjoy ignoring.Matthew94 said:The MM remake is coming after the next proper 3DS zelda game so you may be waiting a VERY long time for that remake.Just_A_Glitch said:Honestly, yeah, it is. Nintendo has captured the "for kids" part of the market better than the other "big two" have, and I can only imagine that their will be a ton of 3DS's under the trees this year.ElektroNeko said:Wow, that was fast. But yeah: Nintendo stuff is really the kind of stuff for Christmas etc.
