Hey fellas, I need a hand setting up my phone with some kickass 3G connectivity.
Thing is, I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing. I've been wandering around my phones settings for a while now, and I just can't figure it out. I called my service provider for some hints, and they gave me a list of settings (which I'll provide below) to enter manually.
Connection name: dna WAP
APN: wap
Username: dna
password: wap
ip-address: 10.1.1.1
port: 9201
startup page: http://m.dna.fi
Now, I go into my phones settings, and I figured it's probably under Wireless & networks. So I go there, and I find Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, even Tethering and portable hotspot. And there it is, at the bottom,
Mobile Networks! Heading over there, I see the following menu choices:
Data enabled [ ]
Data roaming [ ]
Data always on [x]
Access point names
Use only 2G networks [ ]
Network operators
The first thing I did was go check out Network operators. A list of local corporation 3G networks pop up, and I try picking the one by my service provider. It loads for a while and then tells me it's registered. Then I go to Access point names, and find one that´s called dna internet. I click it, and see that it allows me to enter some stuff, like name and apn.
I decided to create a new one according to the settings provided. I got as far as ip-address and port, and noticed it doesn't allow me to enter either one.
Curiously, there's also a button called Data Switch you can press, and it allows internet even without settings of any kind.
What the hell, guys?
