4 months on xbox live and only one hate message

I don't play online anymore, for connectivity reasons, but when I did, I had one that called me out for "edgeguarding" in Soul Calibur 4. The guy eliminated himself by jumping backwards off a stage. What could I have done?

I also got a voice message that was so quiet, no amount of adjusting could make it decipherable. For the sake of running with the cliches, I've always assumed it was a 12 year old squeaking profanities at my mother and I.

that annoys me too, i either have to turn my TV up full blast, or plug a headset in and listen.

most of the time its crap that you dont care about so dont worry.

i dont play CoD... might if i owned it, but my preference for online multiplayer is fighting games and the only game i own (at the moment) is blazblue (though i borrowed MvC 3 for a while)

i am planing to get black ops and super street fighter 4 but not anytime soon

had xbox live for around 4 years now, and when i first got it everyone was cool and friendly, now i get hate messages everytime i kill someone on any game, that why i play PC more now

I get hate mail on a weekly basis, ranging from people crying about dying in Black Ops or Red Dead, people who call me a hacker because of my stats or that iv hacked my gun because they can't kill me apparently, to people threatening to kill me or my family and people who want to rape my mum! LOL

I do enjoy getting hate mail because i enjoy the utter dross that they send back after i have wittingly put them in their place, or just to see what other rubbish they reply with before they hurl abuse and swear words back, because they've completely lost the plot before putting that they are blocking me!!!!!! =D

I only had a few myself, mostly involving the CoD games.

One of them where I was camping lying prone on the top of some stairs in MW2. (On the map where Ghost and the team get betrayed by Shepard.) To cut a long story short, people kept coming through the front door and kept getting shot by me to their dismay. (I'd notched up a 20 kill streak in one life by doing this.)

I got a few complaints thrown at me for it and a voice message calling me a camping scruff.

I have had my fair share as well, but shockingly i got a good message yesterday, i was playing Halo: Reach (the last place i would of thought to get praise) and we were on the map where the Pillar of Autumn was in the campaign. Anyway, Me and this guy got into a Warthog and we lasted for pretty much the entire match, with my driving skills and him on the gun, seriously we whent into the buildings, took out the scorpion (with the help from someone with a Rocket Launcher, but still) and destroyed at least 2 Banshee's.

Anyway at the end of the match he messaged me saying Good Driving =3

I felt proud =3

Well, I play CoD a lot and I'm pretty good at it so naturally I'm a lagging/camping/hacking ******.

I was also selling some stuff on guild wars the other day and some guy asked if he could trade it for some other items, when I politely said "Sorry, cash only" he replied with "fuck you ****** *****".

I'm on PS3 but once I was playing MW2 and went into a game, not realising that we were only using knives so some kid who sounded like his bollocks were on his scalp shouted at me and started shooting me. Eventually I got bored and quit to play Littlebig Planet. Much more civilised.

My friends and I play a lot of search and destroy on the various call of duties. Ive gotten a lot of messages from people calling me a tryhard and I should join optic and stupid stuff like that. I try to to take them as compliments.

Every now and then I get sent an angry French voice message. Too bad I only speak German.

I kicked someone's ass in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and I got numerous voice messages on how he was going to hack me, kill my family, kill me, rape my family, forcefully give me an aneurysm (I can't believe I spelled that right) and shave my balls. Xbox LIVE isn't the cesspool it's been made out to be in my experience, I've had my own account since...July? August? last year and haven't gotten one hateful message.
This is after playing lots of COD, Halo, GOW, etc. etc. maybe I haven't had the joy of meeting more rageful players.

I didn't know that hate mail was a rep of xbl.

I have never gotten a hate mail either. I don't know if it's because I got noob skills (although I've been top player on more than a few cod matches), I got a ps3, or maybe it's just that I don't go out of my way to grief people either.
I've never sent a hate mail either; maybe that has something to do with it.

I haven't recieved hate mail in a long, long time on XBL. The last time I did was way back when I used to play Gears 2 online, some guy would keep sending me messages accusing me of kill-stealing (though quite how you kill steal when you're using the Torque-bow is beyond me). A simple block solved that problem and I've had nothing since ^^

I don't get live hatemail, because I am the guy who gets messages saying 'Thanks for not quitting' and the like, when my whole team quit and it was 4v1 on halo3. I won anyway, just got a lead and then ran away.

Also, while some games (COD4) I am.... very good. Most of the time I'm not playing competitively, it's a social thing not a k/d thing.

I've had Xbox Live for four years or so and haven't got that much hate mail(I guess the haters take it out on my rep which is pretty low for some bizarre reason). The latest hatemail I've received was yesterday when I was playing BF:BC 2 and someone send me a message that said "I got your dogtag. PWND". And then he send a message to my friend that said "you fight like a huge pussy". I didn't know if I should have laughed or cried.
