Hey, Escapist.

To make a long story short, My father and I like to play the old Ghost-Recon games for the original XBOX. (Like GR2, with the 4 player splitscreen)
That game is played with my uncle and his friend - it's their game.
Recently, the XBOX has been pretty problematic. Old age and other problems have gotten to it.

Now, we are looking for a fun game for the PS3.
We want simple: No sci-fi, fantasy, or anything. Just a standard FPS. Call of Duty isn't particularly a high choice - I'm playing with some older gamers who don't need fancy customization or killstreaks or other fancy bells and whistles.

Any suggestions, friends?

Great suggestions: I've played Vegas 2.
I'm stilling looking for a 4-player splitscreen game. (Not 4-player LAN, or anything of that nature).

A first person shooter with splitscreen that isn't fantasy/sci-fi? As rare as split-screen has become, that is really, really limiting your options.

If you're ok with third person shooters, then all the Army of Two games have split-screen co-op. So do Uncharted 2/3.

As for fps, if you're willing to forgive sci-fi to varying degrees, then Resistance 1/2, Haze, Unreal Tournament 3 and Borderlands 1/2 all have split-screen.

Look...Resistance is sort of alternate history, but it's not that outlandish in regards to weapons. If you're going for campaign, you'll have to deal with having Chimera as enemies and Chimeran structures everywhere, but it's pretty good.

If it's really not what you're looking for at all, Rainbow Six Vegas 2- oh. You already...well nvm.
