I think it's a bragging thing. I can understand the random numbers at the end of the tag if the name is taken, but why put that? Seriously?

Ripped this off of a website but here ya go
The Origin Revealed
According to Steven Hager, editor of High Times, the term 420 originated at San Rafael High School, in 1971, among a group of about a dozen pot-smoking wiseacres who called themselves the Waldos, who are now pushing 50. The term was shorthand for the time of day the group would meet, at the campus statue of Louis Pasteur, to smoke pot. Intent on developing their own discreet language, they made 420 code for a time to get high, and its use spread among members of an entire generation. While our teens feel that they know something we don't, you can let them in on the fact that it was your generation that came up with the numbers.
A quote from one of the Waldos in the High Times article states, "We did discover we could talk about getting high in front of our parents without them knowing by using the phrase 420." Fortunately, your teenagers will not have that same option.
So then you are of the opinion that you can think poorly of someone due to one trait they exibit without fully knowing them? Well congrats that is the exact same thing I was talking about being perfectly normal, and you where implying you where looking down at me for it.Terminalchaos said:I'm perfectly in my rights to look down on someone for having that attitude.
I never tried to imply I was superior to everyone else. A bit to you, but mostly for not being delusional.Terminalchaos said:There are plenty of people that annoy me and I don't beat myself up for disliking them, but I don't try to fool myself into thinking I'm a superior person for looking down upon them either.
I wrote a bit of explanation text here, but well I already basically wrote the same thing, and still got this answer. So yeah, agree to disagree and all that jazz. Oh and the name calling thing. Thats not really name calling to me. Numbnuts is more like saying silly or goof. Not really intended to be insulting. I would have called you dumbass or well if I start giving other examples it could end bad, but suffice it to say the ones I used where not meant to be insulting.Terminalchaos said:I find it funny that you would equivocate a non-condescending attitude with hippy love. I find gross generalizations amusing and pitiful simultaneously (unless they are for comedic sake.)
As far as what I said having nothing to do with what you said: false- it was mostly in reply to your last statement. I never said you said you had a problem with smokers but you do appear to be a bit condescending of those who have different tastes than you (to be fair I am making that assessment based upon limited data.) Must be a touchy issue for you too if you resort to direct personal name-calling. We can both agree at least to look down on those whom we choose to and possibly look down at each other for having different attitudes of looking down.
