4chan is despicable and yet strangely compelling. It has exactly my sense of humour.

However, it is currently dying. All the 12 year olds have discovered it and now everyone is running around with Fawkes masks, yelling 'U MAD', posting emo shit because they need validation from someone and spraypainting trollfaces everywhere (...or attempting to anyway).

LOL WEE AAR LEEEJUN!

It's stupid, racist, homophobic, offensive, childish.... I like it. Not for all the abuse that people get (although some is funny) but because it's chaotic and unpredictable. You never know whether a thread will become intelligent discussion or derail into fuckery and reaction faces. It's one of the very, very few places on the internet or indeed anywhere that has true freedom of speech.

Or spiderman. Spiderman threads are always good.

freedom of speech... lol, probably the most incorrectly cited freedom ever. Besides that, its probably the most wasted freedom ever... there are alot of things that freedom of speech allows to be said, but that doesn't mean that they NEED to be said.

My instincts are to scream "RULES 1 AND 2 NEWFIENDS!" but, because this a good discussion, I'll hold my tongue.

/b/ is occasionally good, but it's pretty cancerous. /x/ is always a good choice if you don't want to sleep, but it's too slow most of the time.

I only really visit /mu/, but I like the sense of humor there. It's completely different to /b/, which is basically a filter, and you get the impression that most of the people there are pretty intelligent.

Yup I could tell by your avatar. I am a /mu/tant as well. My only beef with /mu/ is that it is a lot of "STOP LIKING WHAT I DONT LIKE!" and "If it get popular it sucks".

4chan used to not be 'not too bad'. Then the indie kids found it. What you looked at isn't 4chan, you looked at a hilarious parody consisting of 12 year old kids who think it's 'underground' and see themselves as hackers.

Well, I've certainly had a better introduction since jumped the bandwagon as soon as I knew about the site.

It's the best place on the internet to watch entertainment, political movements and get decent information (You need to be sceptical but you learn what's fact and what's fiction pretty quickly).

It's a great site. In my opinion, it's most likely a better forum than EscapistMagazine due to the open nature of the site.
Agree actually. The "post anything you want" attitude of 4chan makes it my favorite place ever. In fact I think it might even fill an important social role. Its the place anyone can come, and say whatever they want without being pigeon holed. Because you are anonymous. What a fantastic concept.

/b/ was never good :>

When we got that out of the way I dont think 4chan has changed for the worse. Much. Its still a place for memes to be born, shit to be thrown at anyone and everyone, and a place where people can say whatever they want without having to worry too much about being shunned by all. I'm extremely happy such a place exist.

Sure, there are a lot of idiots but those are everywhere anyway.

I only go on /tg/ while I'm there, and they are for the most part really nice. Plus, they make great fanfiction.

Also, I like 4chan. It's dark, evil and vile, but I like it anyway

Well. Thats the beauty of it. You dont have to listen. But better there exist such a place where people can say what they want, and you can just not go there, than that the place does not exist and people have nowhere to vent or sprout their different controversial opinions.

I've never been on it and never will. Nothing against it, and I'm sure it isn't as awful as people say it is, but I try not to get involved in any forum site (and lurked on here for a long time till I decided to join and I still only ever go on Facepunch when a friend whose familiar with the site is around).

Define 'don't need to be said'.

b/ is no fun but I usually hang around on /fit good source of information for the healthy minded individual and their are fat stories too.. Like the other boards on the site though their is the barrier of entry from having to know the slang and such.

/fit is gonna be lame for the next week however ever since ZYZZ died everyone is spamming threads about how awesome he was.

Let's not also forget this one as well.
