Well i cant really say i'm all that surprised, 4chan was bound to do more and more crazy stuff, all they need is an idea and they can pretty much do anything on the internet since the power is with the people and 4chan has plenty of people who'll do anything.

You know, I've been thinking about 4Chan a lot recently.

The things it does are just totally bad, but I can't help but laugh at some of it. Especially this YouTube video.

They're like that one crazy guy in a group of friends that always does stuff to people and it pisses them off, but everyone else is laughing their asses off. But everyone still hates him.

It's weird. On one side, you have a perfectly legitimate reason to want to shut 4Chan down, but on the other, you'd really like to see the crazy shit they'll do next.

Just dont feed the trolls, and they will eventually go away. They raided us a couple months ago and it was quickly taken care of by the mods.

Not particularly surprised, and am partially amused, that this happened. Granted, I don't relish the idea of pre-teens being exposed to pornography, but it is a laugh. And for every parent who screams bloody murder at their precious little ones seeing that sort of material, a piece of advise - do as my father did, and a) monitor where your children go on the internet and b) have a relationship in which they'll respect you enough not to go looking for such things, and will turn away when they see it. Not nearly as difficult as one would think.

why is it that no one but 4chan themselves find this awesome? annoying meme-spamming aside, every once in a while, something happens that brings 4chan to the news pages. As soon as I heard about this I was following it closely, checking out post to removal delay, scanning for disgusted comments, and reveling in the fact that they were blaming it all on ebaum world.

I found the whole debacle hilarious.

Oh I agree. Especially when I learned that they do the same thing that Scientologists try to do to people who question them (i.e. massive supression and life-wrecking). So basically the Chanology project was essentially hypocrisy, which is a shame, really. But not surprising. Thank goodness they're only limited to doing essentially harmless things like this that go away in almost no time. I'd be a bit worried to think what someone who could do actual damage might do "for teh lulz"
