It brings tears to my eyes and makes me feel very warm inside.

Or maybe it's the most spicy ramen soup available in my country, made with almost no water?

I don't like 4chan, and I don't like dogs, but I DO like this. A very merry Christmas story. Warms my heart too.

Nice story I guess. Although there hasn't been a bad story about 4Chan for a while now. They tend to focus their energy on doing some good things now and that's great.

I always thought this was a strange symptom of our culture, we see a homeless guy out on the street begging for change, we just keep walking. See another one with a dog, and we give his dog something.

I doubt this guy would've got anything if they had no pets.

I think it's called 'animal worship' and it starts up in declining societies.
That's not really what happened here at all. I mean, there are millions of people out there that could use the money, this person didn't get it because of 'animal worship' though, they got it because they posted a picture that helped to make their situation more detailed and harder to ignore. The story was in a very real sense humanized by the picture of a couple dogs. We've all been broke before. It sucks, but you just have to deal with it, but to be unable to care for creatures that you're responsible for is something more real. Nobody thinks the dogs are more important than people, but it was a real person with real problems that received the help.

Sure there are people with worse problems out there, and sure there were more efficient ways of helping out, but fuck efficiency. Nobody actually cares about all that garbage, what people do care about though is helping others. If being inefficient is what it takes to get people to do that, then I'm fine with it.

It's funny how cynics can find an excuse to make anything sound bad, but this was nothing but kindness and generosity.

See, this is why I respect the anon.
Because in the middle of all the jerkbags you see some of the best amongst us.
The idea behind it all is to gather any and all intelligence (or lack of it) on the internet.
and amongst the piles of junk you will find pearls, may more people get what they need, and might more people decide to help them. With solidarity the world becomes what Christmas is truly about, not all that christianity mumbojumbo but facing lighter times in the darkest of winter. Merry Christmas chaps, I'm getting all sentimental over here.

Its important to remember that 4chan isnt just the image boards that make it so well known - The whole site is subjective to the beholder :)

So 4chan isn't completely soulless. Congratulations 4Chan, you at least have more of a soul than Fox does.

Chaos does not exclusively produce evil. Through the randomness that is 4chan, there have been some acts of kindness. Sure they might post horrible (and sometimes amusing) things, but I don't believe they are all evil. Hey, I lurk on \b\ sometimes too, but I don't think I have given many negative impressions on other sites, like this one Then again, I love the escapist and would never want to offend anyone here.

Happy Holidays guys and gals :D

Awwww. Now I feel all fuzzy and warm inside. ^^

Thanks for posting this! I needed cheering up. Broke two toes yesterday and now I can't drive home over Christmas. This thread has seriously improved my mood. :)

See, 4chan is just people at their purest.

No social correctness or bias, their true feelings:

Mean jerks who do what they want, but will help when the see when it is needed.

Well, there is the story of Dusty the cat. If you don't know what that is, google it. 4chan CAN be used for good...

I think that the internet really could be used to fund some amazing ideas. People are willing to give small amounts of money/time/work to things they believe are worthy. And giving money to the red cross and such always feels worthless because you can never see where that money goes or what it's actually used on. It's supposed to be for good use, but we never really know. Anyhow, guess it's a possible use for the 'net yet to be explored.
