Guys, guys, seriously. I'm not surprised at all. Let me paint a picture for you. There are, as I see it, four morality scales.
First, there is Black and White. Your classic superhero stories, where an all-around good guy fights pure evil in a drag-out brawls defending peace, justice, the American Way and stuff like that.
Then there's Black and Gray. This is where good is all but gone in the world, and at best people are nice but with serious issues. Your more typical anti-hero work, where good is a world only known by boy scouts, and everyone is out killing and looting, all that sort of thing.
Third, there's Gray and Gray, where there is no good or evil. Like in Watchmen, everyone has an ulterior motive that is motivating them, even the apparently evil villain has a rather good reason and plan to carry out his ideals.
Finally, there's Blue and Orange. This is 4chan. A group so alien, so impossible to understand in their methods, they're on an entirely different scale. If they have motives as we humans recognize them, they are a very well-kept secret and I doubt we shall ever known them.
