5 Days a Stranger (Help?)

I require assictance, unfortunately. Five Days a Stranger, a game designed by Yahtzee pre-ZP, and I'm stuck. Anyone with experience with it, please help. I'm at the teddy bear puzzle, and I know what I have to do, just not HOW to do it. How're you supposed to bind the teddy bear to the stick? A string or something that you find somewhere? I have absolutely no idea where it would be, I've looked everywhere I can think of.

I think you put the bear in the salt in the kitchen. Afterwords you put the bear on the stick. I don't know whether or not if there's string. Do you have string?
