Test out as many weapons as I can before choosing which one will be my main type to go for.

I'm going to do the main quest until I get my dragon shout (preferably FUS ROH DAH! because it's become so iconic) and then I'm going to find the Dark Brotherhood.

Take a look at the map, see what city name catches my eye the most, and run to the city. I'll probably get sidetracked on the way, and then just follow a logical progression of events. If not, I'll probably join some guild in the city, or just do some random sidequests. But believe me, if my experience with Oblivion's main quest taught me anything it's that I won't be doing Skyrim's main quest until I've run out of stuff to do.

Why doesn't Skyrim come out on a Tuesday?

Games, DVDs and most other retail stuff always comes out on Tuesdays.
Why does Skyrim get a Friday release?

Anyway, I'm going to run to the town farthest away from the starting area and do those quests first!

Spend hours in Character creation.

After that? Find the main path, so I can go in the opposite direction.

Lycanthropy? Don't be boring...

...and stop there. Catch lycanthropy, and then try to catch polyphoric hemophilia. Because let's be frank: there's been too much talk among the fanbase of vampire-werewolf hybrids in Skyrim for it to have been ignored entirely.
actually not possible... Lycans and Vampyr have disease immunity, making it impossible to catch both (or so i am informed)
Goddamnit. That's...

Wait a minute. Both of those have a gestation period, right? I know that polyphoric hemophilia did in Oblivion. That time when you 'have' the disease that will turn you into a vampire, but you haven't actually turned yet?

New hope! And frankly, if my wild-mass-guessing is actually right, a brilliant gameplay device: it's ludicrously difficult to contract both within the same narrow window, making a cross-breed something genuinely special...

...unless turning into a vampire/werewolf automatically wipes away any pre-existing conditions, of course. That actually would seem far more likely.

Oh well. I'm still probably going to catch them in relatively quick succession, if nothing else than for the quests I know will be associated with them. From there, I'll probably start hitting the Daedric shrines. Those were easily some of the best highlights out of Oblivion, and I see no reason that would've changed.

Two reasons, I'd say:

1) They wanted the release date to be 11/11/11. You didn't think that was coincidence, did you?

2) They might also want the release date to be a day when more people will be able to buy it immediately. To be honest, the Tuesday thing always baffled me, and was a point of annoyance this semester because I'm at school virtually all day and need to wait until the next day (at the earliest) to get what's just come out. Friday makes sense if you want to set record day-one sales, if you ask me.

Grab a cup and watch the guards come after you.

Oblivion was just stupid with the crime system, here's hoping Skyrim is better in that regard.
good news everyone!

it's already been stated that guards are not magically omnipotent. if you murder a bunch of people in one town, you can flee to another town and hideout there, safe from persecution. and prosecution. maybe not prostitution though. anyways...

i think they also stated that unless someone ACTUALLY witnesses your crime, you won't be automatically held accountable.

EDIT: OT, find Sheogorath's Shrine and find out what that crazy fucker's been up to.

OR WAIT! will it now be Jygallag's Shrine?!

Step 1: Curse the fact that I was born on the 19th and that my wife told me she'll be giving it to me then.

Step 2: Try to ignore texts from friends taunting me.

Winning Dark Souls. Seriously I don't want to be caught between these two games, they both deserve my full attention for different reasons, I think I'm actually going to play a rogue/assassin character as my first on Skyrim, normally I completely neglect that option and either go for full on warrior builds (Dark souls) or Arch mage type stuff (Dragon Age) Skyrim also looks like the kind of game I can take advantage of a sneakier character than most RPG's

Get to a town as quickly as possible, then load up the modding tools and make myself a scythe to place into a shoppy's inventory for...

1 copper.
Too much?
