Whatever, just wash your hands.
I consider it a huge positive. It means the people making their games, care about their work and to leave their best impression possible. I say live in and cherish these moments to make them last a life time.
I don't know, like you don't really see many games get a deep dive into them like you used to, aside from the highest of the high. Like I haven't seen quite as much of a flood of content to Deltarune chapter 3/4 that I did to the initial releases. It can't be because they aren't good, they are amazing, but I think that everything moves so fast we don't have time to really fall in love with something anymore.

What do you mean "we"? I have all the time in the world to fall in love with something. Not every single time, but I treasure either something unique and good, or whatever interests me. Especially when I know I am down to play the game at day one.

I mean individually we do, but its cool when there are a lot of other people you can love a game with and you have people doing deep dives into it and figuring out mechanics and secrets and interviews with the creators and such.

Not sure if the Raidou remake which came out like a day or 2 ago counts but either way, game's amazingballs! This year is full of epic rpgs. Also we got the Lies of P dlc. That one's hype too. Been mainly playing that up til now.

Maybe it's because I haven't been paying as much attention to gaming as I used to, but, it doesn't feel like there has been much hype for anything this year. Even the Switch 2 came and went in a howl of "how much for games now?" Sure there were bits where Doom and Clair Obscur came in and caused a stir, but I haven't really noticed anyone getting that excited about anything else.

Any recommendations? I'm going to need something to play after Fuga 2. Fuga 3 is already on the list.

Well, here I go with my list!

I think so far the biggest let down was Civ 7. The mix-and-match of leaders and civilization was a stupid idea. The main menu theme was the only ost that I liked.

Doom The Dark Ages is pretty fun, especially with that adjustable parry window setting! However I stopped playing for like 3 weeks now. The large area exploration with surface-level secret hunting was boring.

FF7 Rebirth PC release was a blast to play, but I haven't touched it in two months! Beforehand, I played it regularly, but life events made me stop playing, and now I find it hard to get back into it. But it's an amazing JRPG.

Oblivion Remaster. I think it's a decent remaster. Especially considering how cumbersome it can be to run the original. But there are so many unnecessary changes, some of the hilarious charms are now gone, and at the end of the day it's your typical Bethesda open-world experience.

Lies of P Overture. It's an amazing expansion. The new areas are creepy and fun to explore, weapons are fun to use, and it's still the hard-as-nail soulslike experience.

The First Berserker Khazan. Another soulslike game, but in a style of nioh. Hmm, I wonder why I stopped playing? It's a great game and all.

Games that already have been released, but I won't have time to get into immediately:
  • Expedition 33
  • Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
  • Ninja Gaiden 2 Black
  • Stellar Blade PC release
  • Tails of Iron 2
  • Elden Ring: Nightreign
  • Deltarune

lol wtf

Blue Prince, Clair Obscure, Kingdom Come 2, Alters, Split Fiction, Switch 2 + new Mario Kart, South of Midnight, Rematch, Turnip Boy Robs a Bank, Ninja Gaiden black, Citizen Sleeper 2, Marvel v Capcom collection, Rift of the Necrodancer, Civ 7, pirate Yakuza, Monster Hunter, Wanderstop, Stellar Blade on PC, new Doom, AssCreed Japan finally, Atomfall, Avowed, Midnight Walk, Revenge of the Savage Planet, Pipstrello and the Cursed Yo-Yo, Elden Ring Nightreign, more Detlarune, GamePass being absolutely stacked and more remasters and ports across scores of franchises and IPs than you can shake a stick at.

All of this stuff is "good" to some degree- even if you don't want to play them (I sure don't because I'm so picky) they are all of interest to many. To have all this in just 6 months and complain about 2025- I would question of you even like video games any more.

I heard it's hard as shit. People killing it in Niohs and Lies of P getting slaughtered in that one. Ugh, count me out.

Clair Obscur is the unanimous masterpiece. Can’t go wrong with that. Personally, I’m loving lies of P the most right now and if you never played it like me it’s an ideal time to jump on cause there’s a bundle of the base game and dlc at a great price. Also monster hunter’s always fun and kingdom come 2 or tainted grail for a first person Skyrim-style rpg. Kcd2 is more realistic medieval fare while tainted grail is dark fantasy.
