Oh god I'm really enjoying this game... too bad I have Reach as well so I have to choose what to play X_x

I want to play both, at the same time! D:

Thats weird - on page two of the review it says that you can't use combo items until you found the appropriate card. I have made several of the combo weapons without the cards and used them just fine.

As with the environment, though, the system feels a bit restrictive. You can't use a weapon until you've found the appropriate combo card, and it would have been nice to allow players some more experimentation: What happens when I stick knives on a boxing glove?

Of (most) of sub-par sequels that Capcom has been releasing over the past couple of years, I was pleasantly surprised that Dead Rising 2 was an improvement over the original. I guess my biggest compliments can be given to the Improved AI of Survivors (They actually fixed it!) and the weapon creating system. Using a wheelchair and a lawnmower combo and plowing through a crown of zombies is just so much damned fun!

Mr. Funk i hope you know that you can make combo weapons without actually knowing the Combo Card. Granted it will not have the 2x multiplier for PP but you can still make them if you know the Recipe. Say for example, I stumbled upon the lightsaber when i wandered into a back stage Maintenance Room in the casino down the hall, kinda figured Gems + Flashlight = Light Saber XD.

Just an update. ^-^

P.S. FREEDOM BEAR = win versus Boss Fights hehe

He probably means you can't use the heavy attacks. Like with the Defiler you can't do your spinning attack until you have the card.

And when he refers to putting knives on boxing gloves what is he talking about? That's one of the most popular/powerful weapons in the game if I'm not mistaken. Is he saying it doesn't exist or what?

I figured he mite have meant that but the paragraph was vague so best to mention it if that isnt what he meant ^-^

I'm actually considering to buy this now.

Usually after giving a franchise a chance and seeing it fail, I refuse to buy a sequel.

It seems that games like Assassins Creed 2 and Dead Rising 2 may bring about a change in habit.

Jesus Christ. Has the attention span of the gaming community gone down so much that we can't wait a measily 20 FUCKING SECONDS FOR A GAME TO LOAD A FEW THOUSAND INDEPENDANTLY MOVING NPC'S!?

Not every game can be fucking GTA. -.-

Im pretty put off by the timer system. Is it really that restrictive??
At first, you'll be really busy but you'll have plenty of time to explore later on. Hell, if you want to, you can let the story kill itself and have 6 hours worth of exploration.

... This is a game that needs to be made. Seriously 343 Industries, I will buy another Halo game if you do this (hell, you can even put Chuck in power armor if microsoft forces you, but seriously, look into this).

I thought the game also auto saved between plot points. At least with Case Zero that was the case. Also I would have liked to hear a bit more about the multiplayer and whether or not survival mode was kept in.

Sorry, should have clarified. At first, the game doesn't really make it CLEAR that you can use an item without a combo card - and you won't be able to use them to their full extent. I didn't even know I COULD use items I hadn't gotten the combo cards for until I was... near the end of the second day?

I just feels like the game could have encouraged a lot more experimentation there on the part of the player.

Should've done your review off the PC version, it had a nice transition more or less. The lack of customizing keybindings and a few other things are irritating but the overall playstyle feels more intense and the loading times are much faster. It also doesn't seem to have the same glitches you were talking about either.

...if you don't feel like shelling out exorbitant prices at the makeshift pawnshops or can't find a survivor with a spare dose...
In the game's defense (and I love this game, but agree with most of your criticisms), if you go online and perform well in one episode(?) of Terror is Reality, you can easily net yourself ~$65k, enough to purchase two doses of Zombrex and start you on your way to a third.

I don't normally condone forcing SP gamers to use the MP modes in games, but I felt like the four-for-all matches counted on new game content, moreso than the feel of competition against others.

Edit: Played some more last night. Turns out the price of Zombrex goes up after each purchase. TiR is still a good way to make in-game cash, though.
