This week's issue of The Escapist is about videogame weapons. Whether it's shooting, stabbing or slicing, each of us have a favorite videogame weapon. Which one is yours? Why is it the best?

The Nemean Cestus from God of War 3. Metal boxing gloves with chains on them to grab enemies from a distance. What's not to love?

I'm not very good at pick favourites, though I think I'll go for the Disc Launcher for the reason that it's a not very well-known one and such a brilliant piece of simple design that is so satisfying to use.
There are probably more out there that I like more but this was the first thing that came to mind and isn't so famous.

Well it's hard to argue with nukes and birds that shoot fire eggs out of their mouths, but you can't top the classic Master Sword.

Other - the BFG 9000. No other weapon is as effective at clearing out a room of hellspawn. On a very similar note:

I can say that, yes I can.

Energy Sword is made of plasma, that is, super-heated gas that is so hot it has liquid properties. It would melt straight through any other sword.

So from a scientific standpoint, the Energy Sword has to win by default. Why have only two people (including myself) voted for it then?!?!?
