Question of the Day, November 25, 2010

Today is Thanksgiving Day here in the United States, which means many Americans are having a traditional holiday meal (and lots of it). What part of the Thanksgiving feast is your favorite? If you don't live in the States, don't let that hold you back - what part of it do you think would be your favorite?

Apart from not having thanksgiving, I enjoy roast potatos in almost every roast dinner that I have (christmas dinner is no exception).

I'm Australian and we don't have it either. As far as I'm aware it's mainly an American tradition. I would be amused if there are Americans here who do not realise it's not a global tradition.

Mashed potatoes...gravy...and cranberry sauce! WHOOOOOOOO!

OT: The turkey, usually. Or the ham. We don't tend to have ham every year, though.

Ooh I like the Christmas sandwich Tesco do around this time of year. Turkey, sausage, stuffing and cranberry sauce. Nom.

Where is the "I'm an aussie and I had toasted sandwiches for dinner" option?
They were delicious by the way.

Other - being British I don't have thanksgiving :p
Nor did you read the question properly ;)

I don't celebrate it either (Good ol' England), but I think the turkey would have to be the best, closely followed by mashed potato and gravy.

Australia doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving. But my favourite on the list was the mashed potatoes. There better be gravy all up in it though.

other- being british, I don't celebrate it, but if I did, I'm sure some yorkshire puddings would be thrown in the mix.

Hello I am an american and I celebrate Thanksgiving.

The lack of punkin' pie on this thread is appalling. I will have to alleviate that.

Well, I'm English so I don't do Thanks giving, I celebrate my birthday instead :D

If I had to chose though I would go for the stuffing. My nan's turkey stuffing is the best and I could just eat that and forget the rest for all I care.

I'm British, so no Thanksgiving for me.

I can't stand Turkey though- I won't even cook it for Christmas lunch, so really the only things on that list that I might like out of that list are sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce.

Happy Thanksgiving to American Escapists though.

Corn. Turkey and potatoes are ok, but I don't like stuffing, fruit pies (minus banana cream), or most of the other traditional thanksgiving foods. And this year, I get to spend my day... err... night at McDonalds.

Thanksgiving isn't celebrated where I live, but I'm going with turkey simply because turkey is awesome. Also, it never ceases to amuse me how one of the traditional american meals shares the name with an actual country... :p
