Question of the Day, December 24, 2010

The other day, Valve and EA announced that EA would be distributing Valve's upcoming Portal 2 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/106370-EA-and-Valve-Do-a-Deal-for-Portal-2] as far as physical retail was concerned; the game would still be digitally distributed by Valve's Steam. How are you planning on playing the highly-anticipated game?

Xbox 360. Because I have both the orange box and portal:still alive on it, because I don't have a decent computer and I prefer consoles.

On 360.
That's what I play most of my games on.
And as a side note, i'm pretty damn pumped for Portal 2; no more delays, please, Valve.

Steam if it's cheap and I can be bothered. Not too excited about it really, but if I can get it cheap, I will.

I'm not sure. I bought the first one off Steam so I'm used to those controls.
However I've heard the PS3 version will be best and I really enjoy the consle.
Depends on the price.

It's a game from Valve, therefore it belongs on the PC. Now I ended up owning the Orange Box for both my PC and my 360 because I got the 360 copy cheap, but PC gaming is still very much my first love.

Looking at the number of unplayed/unfinished games I have now, I'll probably wait for it to go on sale on Steam and then buy it.

Not at all, because I don't like FPP games, and while Portal was novel and well done, that's not enough to draw me in.

I don't know, if I'm bought it by a friend it will most likely be for the xbox, but if I buy it myself it will almost certainly be for PC (through steam, ofc).

If I can get a job and get my hands on a new PC, the PC. I don't know it it'll be digital distribution or retail though.

I refuse to play it on a console, it will ruin the feel of the first Portal game which I've got on PC.

I'll most likely play it on Steam. I'm looking forward to it partly because of the prospect of screwing my friends over in co-op, and partly because it's, well, a sequel to Portal.

But it'll also be interesting to see where they go with the story now that it's been established that GLaDOS is psychotic and Aperture has some skeletons in its closet...

PC either digitally or retail. I buy alot on steam, but for some reason I tend to buy a hard copy of the newer valve games.

I would choose PC as I think Valve games are a lot better overall on that system. However, my friends are getting it on the Xbox 360 and while I do think the PC version will be better, I don't think it's enough to miss out on the co-op.

I can't imagine not getting it on Steam. What would I do if Valve decided to give me free stuff but I played on the 360?

Definitely the 360, so I can play it online with my friends, as well as the fact that my computer is nowhere near the required technical specs required to play Portal 2, let alone any new PC game.
