Dragon Age 2 Achievements Revealed

Just in time for gamers who want to get a head start on planning their vacation to Kirkwall, the Dragon Age 2 [http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Age-2-Pc/dp/B0047THYWC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1297271538&sr=8-2] achievements have been revealed.

Ah, cheevos. The great scoreboard of life. A way to prove to the world that you're willing to jump through whatever ridiculous hoops a developer puts in front of you, just so you can have a little digital badge sitting next to your name. And, sometimes, a way to discover a few secrets about a game that you might never otherwise know.

Or, depending on your perspective, a way to be spoiled about what lies ahead. Either way, consider yourself warned that at least a few of the recently-revealed Dragon Age 2 achievements will tell you things that you might not want to know if you enjoy surprises while you play. I now know, for instance, that players are going to have at least one encounter with one dude that I'm not going to blow for you here, but whoa. Whoa! Big stuff indeed!

Most of them, of course, are fairly dull, standard fare, the sort of cheevos you pick up along the way just by playing the thing: upgrade your armor, enchant an item, reach level 10, kill Morrigan's demon-child... whoops, did I say that out loud?

(I'm just kidding. There's no mention of Morrigan or her hypothetical offpspring. Calm down.)

50 achievements, 1000 points, and you can see them all (except the five secrets) at xbox360achievements.org [http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/dragon-age-2/achievements/]. Just don't blame me if you spoil yourself silly.

Dragon Age 2 comes out on March 8 for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Good god, I can't get over how awful that shield goes with that armor. Is there an achievement for not having any fashion sense? Because if so, achievement definitely unlocked.

I wonder if you can dye items in this game... I remember there was a mod for that in DA:O, and it was really sweet.

As for the achievements themselves, well I'd rather not have things spoiled for me. So I'll just say I'm disappointed if there isn't one called "And Boom Goes the Dynamite" that you get by doing something special [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.263254-ESRB-Dishes-on-Dragon-Age-2-Sex].

EDIT: Screw it, I'll read 'em.

...

Well those didn't reveal much. Like, anything really. Except things you could probably figure out for yourself if you watched the trailers/dev diaries.

..Good god, I may be a Bioware fanboy, but stop with the reveals! It's less than a fucking month from release, now! >_<

That said, I'm going dark on this until March 8th.

There's an achievement for importing a save from origins? Damn now I really need to get on playing back through the first game(s).

So, we won't be seeing Morrigan's demon child? I didn't click on the list (to avoid spoilers), but that makes me sad. Unless, of course, it's one of the secret ones. Or perhaps we do meet him, and it's just not one of the achievements. Because, with all the stuff revolving around that child, it had BETTER make an appearance in Dragon Age 2, and if it doesn't play a vital role, the whole STORY of Dragon Age 3 better be about it.

Damn... you almost gave me a heart attack... I hate the feeling I get when I read a spoiler.

I yielded to spoilers... and I was disappointed because the achievements actually didn't reveal much.
There weren't even any seperate LI achievements like in the first one.

Also related: WHY WON'T MARCH 8 COME ANY FASTER!?!?

You do realise that the whole marketing campaign up to this point has been a CGI trailer, 2 dev diaries, and a companion reveal each month that they stopped after 4 months, right? Overall, we know almost NOTHING about the game.

Yes, I do. But revealing achievements of all things before a game is even out is pushing it in terms of my perspective. *Shrug*

Like I said, I'm keeping in the dark until March 8th.

That works better with this kinda game, 0 known about the story, how Dragon age origins will effect it etc. All surprise no Spoilers.

You know there's a DLC about confronting Morrigan after the events of the normal Dragon Age campaign? I haven't played it yet so DON'T SPOIL ANYTHING if you already know about it and it doesn't give closure on the whole "demon child" thing, I'm just saying, if you didn't know about it, it exists

Good thing the Demon Child is alive. I want that to be the protagonist in DA3 if at all possible.

Oh yes, I am well aware of it and have beaten it--not that there was much to beat. Witch Hunt is part of my "complaint". The way it ends, the Demon child needs to be in Dragon Age 2. Play it, and you'll see what I mean.

I had no idea this existed...If you would be so kind, could you message me and give me a summary? I don't have the spare cash to get it ATM, but now I'm dying of curiosity. >.<

Thank god they did away with those horribly redundant achievements that plagued Dragon Age: Origins. Even Mass Effect 1s achievements were better than its.
Nothing is worse than being forced to 100% the game 3 times for the "ally" achievements. At least all of DA:O's achievements were related to the main quest, for the most part. Because visiting all of those side planets in ME1 over and over suuuuuuuuucks.
