High Fashion Line Takes Inspiration From Superman

The world of high fashion has been invaded by legendary DC Comics superheroes.

Fashion designer Jeremy Scott [http://www.jeremyscott.com/] brought a line of clothing inspired by DC Comics superheroes to New York Fashion Week this year and sent it down the runway. Scott's line includes seven different looks that use the designs of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Shazam/Black Adam replicated in the world of high fashion.

One of Scott's items is a sparkly, sequined, full-length blue dress with a Superman logo using a "?" instead of an "S" that also features a cape. The Batman look is what the caped crusader might wear to a rave.

It's somewhat of an odd sight to see models go from Calvin Klein to comic books. They might have to bulk up a bit if they want to actually save anyone.

I'm not exactly a fashion expert, but these interpretations of classic comic book heroes are looking good to me. Scott is apparently known for taking inspiration from other fictional characters like the Flintstones and Mickey Mouse, so he might be worth keeping an eye on even if fashion isn't your thing.

The Marvel family inspired dresses are actually really pretty. Especially the one with the sheer lightning bolt.

I suppose it doesn't even need mentioning that those outfits are goddamn hideous. But I'll do it anyway. Those clothes look fucking atrocious and Mr. Scott should reconsider his place in life.

*shudder*

Well that was a horrifying experience never want to repeat. Maybe I'm just completely out of touch with fashion, but I simply don't think any of those look good at all. Or maybe it's just the models.

Ohhh I get it!

By "high fashion" they mean they are high when they come up with those outfits!

Time for fanboyism!

They make all those dresses based on the Marvels and the Big Three, but nothing Power-Girl inspired? And of course to leave out the ultimate class that is the Question is a sin against fashion.

Because nothing says "fashionable" like crack addicts in polyester wife-beaters.
That's a malicious and uncalled for stereotype. Not everyone who wears a tank top is a wife beater, you know.

Wikipedia doesn't seem to have a problem with this definition:

I know. I was trying to be funny. I guess I'm not very good at it.
