No Timesplitters yet again.

Brink though.... why? It was shit.
Well Timesplitters wasn't underrated. It was appreciated exactly as much as it deserved.

Good to see Bulletstorm seeing some love. That game got shafted by gamers I find. It came out during a time where people thought it was cool to hate CliffyB games and acted like they didn't enjoy Duke Nukem or DOOM games.
With Cliffy's offhanded mockery of PC gamers not liking being treated as second-class citizens, no wonder people didn't like him.
Also, the hell are you talking about, Bulletstorm is nothing like Duke or Doom.

I know how you feel...I know I recently gushed about XIII and that was another quirky, fun, gadget-based FPS best remembered on the PS2/Gamecube/Xbox...

Good choices overall I guess; Bulletstorm is fun and when I finally get a PS4 I foresee Shadow Warrior being among the first games I buy for it but come on man...XIII! It was like playing a cell-shaded comic! There was humor and, open-ended level design. Yeah, ammo management was kind of an ass and I feel like there was a BS escort mission or two but it was an over-all fun game!

I am a PC gamer. I didn't take CLiffyB's comment as more than a quick joke. My skin is paper thin in that regard. And Bulletstorm is a lot like Duke Nukem and DOOM in the sense of it being a silly over the top shooter with a simply, ridiculous story.

Yeah, but gameplay is nothing like those two.

In reply to all the Timesplitters comments, that game was praised to the moon and (rightly so). I didn't think it would really qualify as "underrated."

As to Brink, I am constantly surprised how many people dislike that game. It did what it did pretty damn well, and the mechanic that gave every class a mission to complete that actually mattered was completely great. There are plenty of big shooters that could learn a lot from Brink. Also, Splash Damage. My aversion to f2p has kept me off Dirty Bomb, but every Splash Damage game has been pretty much great.

I think you missed my point. You brought up the one aspect of the games I compared that's impossible to be similar due to them being nearly 20 years apart in releases.

I think you missed mine. Just being silly and over the top with a ridiculous story is not enough. Battlefield: Bad Company fits those standards, but you're not going to state that it's any similar to Doom and Duke, are you?
And about it being impossible: well that's not true. It is possible, they just don't want it.

I can't believe this debate is happening. Battlefield is not in the same over the top realm of cartoonishly gory violence as Doom, Bulletstorm, or Duke Nukem. Battlefield is over the top in that typical Hollywood movie sense.

Do I really have to write a meticulous novella to you to explain why I find those 3 games similar? Or are you just arguing for the sake of arguing here?
