Inb4 other commenters posting THEIR best anime opennings (it's subjective to say which are the best)!
WRONG!

The opening to Paranoia Agent is objectively better than everything on this list!

.........with the exception of Cowboy Bebop. :p

And that is why this list - like every other list that's been posted on this site - fails.

Well no surprise that Tank is on the list

Nice to see Gundam Wing on the list. Personally, i think Rhythm Emotion is the superior song, but the 1st OP has better visuals.

Can't really blame you for choosing all the FMA brotherhood OPs. In addition to being great songs in general I love how each one suits the show in one way or another. If I had to choose, I would say "Again" is the best with "Hologram" in a very close 2nd.

I'm disappointed by the lack of 'JIBUN WO' in this list. I would also think that Death Note's opening 1 or 2 would make it on it.

Ohhhhh my God I LOVE the opening to Paranoia Agent.

Also for my two cents, I'd include Asterisk(Bleach S1) and the first opening to Mirai Nikki annnnnd maybe take off a couple that were on the list since I didn't watch half of them xD

I don't get the love for Cowboy Bebop OP. Trigun is pretty bad. Gundam starts really strong but falls flat the moment they start singing.
Rest is great. Especially TTGL OP. But then again, every song in the OST is fantastic. Nanatsu no Taizan OP has a really nice nostalgic feeling to it. Stein;Gate fits the anime perfect.

Very subjective list.
This strikes me as a strange comment, since any list involving the best music will be subjective. There is no objectively best music. There are few things you can objectively list in music. I can't even use my first example--songs in the key of Eb Major--because tonality can be ambiguous.

If you want objective lists of songs, you're going to be limited to things like "songs that are 90 BPM" or "songs released in 2003."

OT: Always kind of hope Tekkaman Blade's "Reason" makes these lists, because it's among my favourites. Still, I like half the list, which is more than I can usually say.

Because most i would say got already mentioned. For it's simplicity (it's from the german dub)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFEBaAxO7W0

Though, the black lagoon intro? Shala hey shala (so much nostalgia)? Rurouni Kenshin first intro? Digimon Adventure (first season)?

Edit: Deadman Wonderland. Yes, i'm weak against e-gitarres.

No Rock the Dragon?

I know it always gets mentioned. But few intros ever hyped me for a show half as much as Rock the Dragon did. Cool visuals (mostly from movies) and a rock song that knows what we came to see. It's probably why I love rock music as much as I do.

No One Punch Man? I an shocked. SHOCKED, I SAY. The theme is pure hype, which could only match the sheer bombastic action that's onscreen in the more intense fights. You know, the ones that Saitama aren't in?

Regardless, this anime song is one of my favorites. I've got a bunch more, but this one was the first to pop into my head.
I was looking for it on this list. I was disappointed by its exclusion.

You know you always laughed when Saitama one shotted a guy that we spent three episodes building up. It's so anticlimactic that it both made me laugh and get hyped for how powerful this guy is. (Not like those guys didn't deserve it, either)

And there's always Saitama versus Boros. Probably one of the best fights in the series. Not to mention, it was sort of sad in a way.

Actually, that's what we need. A best anime fights list!

Simple answer, Nostalgia.

OT:
It's decent list that didn't really fall into the trappings of the Nostalgic western anime too much.
-Good call on FMA, But IMO Period by Chemistry should be an ending song and Shunkan Sentimental by SCANDAL should be the Opening song at that time. :p

I'm a PaperMoon > Resonance guy, probably because Resonance imo is weaker than the 4th ending Strength which is actually sung by the same guy, but in a different band.

If I have to give a negative opinion about this list is, It's almost all action animes, where's the romance/melodrama/sad animes op? It lacks diversity in the genres

personally, I would slip in,
Hikaru Nara by Goose House

and Death Parade's OP, Flyers by Bradio

Heck, I'm going to throw this in because I can,
Showa Genroku Rakuko Shinjuu's OP, Usurai Shinjuu by Megumi Hayashibara

"Libera me from Hell" is not an Opening song.

Wish the list was more recent overall. Yes I get that many started with the 90's and still have a sweet spot for it. But anime is an ongoing dynamic medium. Also there's been so many Gundams since Wing and many solid opening songs from those. TMR's Invoke/ignited from SEED/D. Build Fighters/Try also had great opening songs. Nibun no Ichi, wimp, Cerulean, Just Fly Away were all very good.

Though as far as the 90's are concerned - this is my favourite.

I think this needs a mention in any list. Show is terrible, in an insane entertaining sort of way but the OP is great and the song has kinda transcended the show.
Aquarion EVOL's OP is pretty good too and AKINO also recently did the OP for Amagi Brilliant Park and Active Raid which aren't too bad.

As far as recent-ish openings that really flipped me out-
Valvrave was terrible. Really entertaining in all sorts of ways but oh boy what a trainwreck it was. But the opening songs are one of those rare instances where the stars bloody align and here we are. Not one, but two songs where TM Revolution and Mizuki Nana teamed up.

For currently airing, or rather just ended shows- heck 2015/16 Winter Season shows -
Probably my top. Show was iffy but I do like the song. Utawarerumono also has solid openings.

Looking forward to next season as far as music is concerned because of Macross Delta. We already had a taste of Love Halation the War and Ikenai Borderline which were pretty good. It's going to be hard to top Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee but I'd like to see them try anyway.

The only openings I never skipped were GTO and Erased, which others have mentioned. Yes, the GTO song is cheesy. No, I don't care.

I was kinda surprised to not see Evangelion's theme in there - or am I dating myself too much. :)

Elfen Lied had a damn good theme, too.
,

Those should be required entries on any list. I also noticed a disturbing lack of Serial Experiments Lain. This just seemed like a list of popular shonen series.

Also, you're never too old for Evangelion : )
