Joss Whedon Wants to Watch Serenity With You!

(He also wants to watch Dr. Horrible afterwards!)

Joss Whedon's a busy guy these days, <a href=http://ims.themis-media.com/module/96/ims_news/add_news>what with how he's directing The Avengers (which I'll probably still see, <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/102006-Would-Be-Hulks-Agent-Strikes-Back-at-Avengers-Statement>even though it doesn't have Edward Norton in it). However, the man behind <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Buffy-Vampire-Slayer-Nicholas-Brendon/dp/B0046XG48O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1305049619&sr=8-1>Buffy the Vampire Slayer, <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Firefly/e/B001CG6RVC/ref=sr_tc_img_2_0?qid=1305049708&sr=1-2-ent>Firefly, and <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Dollhouse-Season-One-Eliza-Dushku/dp/B0024FAR66/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1305049680&sr=1-2>Dollhouse still has enough free time to spend an evening with his fans, watching some of his most-beloved work.

The California Browncoats have just revealed their latest "Cant Stop The Serenity" shindig. Every year, the group organizes a showing of Serenity, which serves as a fundraiser for Equality Now (a charity that works to end violence and discrimination against women around the world). However, this year's event has a special treat: Joss Whedon himself will be at the event to introduce both Serenity and <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Horribles-Sing-Along-Blog-Patrick-Harris/dp/B001M5UDGS/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1305049787&sr=1-1>Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

So, if you happen to be in LA on June 25th and have a little free time, then you might want to pick up some tickets for the show. Check out the full announcement below.

The California Browncoats present a SoCal Browncoats Can't Stop the Serenity Event

Mark your calendars for June 25th! That is the date you and your friends will want to be at the Harmony Gold Theater in Hollywood. This will be an event to remember. Trust us, you don't want to miss it!

As you may know, the money we raise at Can't Stop the Serenity events each year goes to Equality Now. We are honored to have special guests Amanda Sullivan, the Director of EN's Women's Action Network, and Jessica Neuwirth, EN's President and Founder, with us for the evening. They are coming from New York to thank us personally and Browncoats around the globe for their continued support of Equality Now. Pretty shiny, yes?

Well, that's not all.

We said you wouldn't want to miss this, right? That's because we are very honored to announce that Joss Whedon will be with us that evening. He wants to say a few words in person to the Browncoats for supporting Equality Now and Can't Stop the Serenity over the years. This is your chance to represent fans around the world.

Okay I'll give Joss that Serinity was actually pretty good. Now if it said he wants to watch Firefly he'd have to listen to me critique the whole friggin show.

If I were to attend I'd leave once Dr. Horrible started because it falls under the same category as Firefly for me.

I might even have considered flying 10 hours, if it wasn't for the fact that I think Serenity destroyed the Firefly canon. Don't get me wrong, Firefly is one of the greatest TV shows I've ever watched, and that's just why I was so disappointed in Serenity.
