Talk about everything you loved or still love about the 80s : Fads, Music, Movies, Fashion, Televison, etc...

Personally I loved the music. Everything from Prince to Duran Duran, to INXS and even some Depeche Mode!

It was in the 70-80's that the best music was made.. Much more epic masterpieces in those ages than there is nowadays.. Also the artists was in general better, having no means of supercomputer to digitalize their voices, so that the artists actually had to know how to sing..

And more of them made their own songs, 98% of artists these days barely know how to write a song at all, let alone a good one..

My family, my friends and I love 80's music and I enjoy the films of the time. Style however was not the 80's strong point as we all know.

The 80s was a fucking embarrassment, fashion was hideous, music was crap (although funnily enough its still better than modern music, does not make it good though), the entire decade was a bust.
I agree with that in relation to mainstream fashion and music at least.

"And where do you get your energy from?"

"#sniff# Columbia,"

80's Formula 1.

1.5litre engines.
1500bhp (no seriously)
No traction control, no ABS, H pattern gearboxes.

To even get in one of those things must have required balls of Titanium. I rue being too young to have watched Senna, Mansell, Lauda, Prost & co race in the flesh.

The music. The Cure who were mainly in the 80s are my favourite band and the whole post-punk, darkwave and other gothic genres were at their peak in those times. Throw is a little awesome synthpop with Tears for Fears and Gary Numan and you have the best era of music ever. The pop is great, the alternative is great and the men did not wear hats.

I am not a huge fan of the 80s fashion except fot the gothic hairstyles of the early 80s and some of the crazy ones throughout the rest of the 80s.

yeah i agree with you there, the 80s was the come down from the 60s and 70s. most of the good music from the 80s was underground, ie on waxtrax and nettwerk. the best band out of the 80s without a doubt is Skinny Puppy, Front 242 and Ministry but they really only got good towards the end, beginning of the 80s they kinda sucked
