Watch Star Wars Characters Rock Out to 80s Metal

Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to DANCING.

Have you ever wondered what it would look like if Darth Vader rocked out (with a full backup troupe of Stormtrooper dancers) Metallica's "Enter Sandman"? Or perhaps thought it'd be cool to see Chewbacca strut his stuff to Guns N' Roses "Welcome to the Jungle" and then get played off stage by an Ewok with an electric guitar? You haven't? Well, too bad, because guess what just got uploaded to YouTube?

Every year, the Disney theme parks host a Star Wars weekend which features a massive nightly performance. This year's event, which took place last weekend, showcased the "Hyperspace Hoopla", which was a dance-off between Star Wars characters:

The theme of this year's hilarious dance-off is rock music and the teams are simple. It's the "Good Guys" against the "Bad Guys" as Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and other Star Wars baddies show off their stuff against Chewbacca, Ewoks, Queen Amidala, Ahsoka Tano, and more heroes of the Saga. In addition to a bigger stage, the show now sports plenty of loud pyrotechnics and a bright screen sporting graphics supporting each act.

Inside the Magic actually has video of the entire performance, as well as specific dance numbers. Honestly, the entire thing is sorta surreal to watch, mainly because it's such a bizarre mash-up. That said, witnessing Darth Vader prance around a stage whilst grinding up against <a href=http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Aurra_Sing:_Dawn_of_the_Bounty_Hunters>Aurra Sing is strangely entertaining in a sacrilegious sort of way, too.

Vader just needed to play air guitar on a lightsaber, then this would have been the greatest thing ever created.

While I do think this is awesome, I can't stop and think that 40 years ago, Darth Vader was one of the most menacing villains in movies.

Always love these videos. This one is the best I've seen. Ever. I'll have to watch the full thing tomorrow.
Oh, and I'm sorry, I have to do this, but Enter Sandman is from Black Album, which was released in the 90's.
Sorry. 80's Metallica is their first four albums. Also known as the best of Metallica.

Exactly. Or, actually play the guitar part of the song.

Not to be "that guy" but Enter Sandman would be nineties metal.

It's okay though, most people try and forget 90s Metallica anyway.

I'm glad you beat me to it. Although I would argue that Enter Sandman is neither 80s nor metal, but that's a different conversation.

OT: Color me unimpressed. Whatever is the opposite of awesome, that's what this is in my book. But to be fair, this is how I always imagined people dancing to Metallica...

Annoyed that the tusken raiders weren't playing the guitar with their gaffi sticks....Other wise this was the most amazing thing in the whole entire universe and when I die I will remember this and have a smile on my face!

Bad math day? ;-)
Meh, couldn't be bothered to wiki on how long it was exactly (I just did. 34 years).
