While I do think this is awesome, I can't stop and think that 40 years ago, Darth Vader was one of the most menacing villains in movies.
Bad math day? ;-)
Meh, couldn't be bothered to wiki on how long it was exactly (I just did. 34 years).
No worries - I just couldn't resist...

It's no suprise that Disney is the real Sith lords for getting Darth Vader himself dancing to Michale Jackson and Metallica musics for the tourists entertainment.

Not to be "that guy" but Enter Sandman would be nineties metal.

It's okay though, most people try and forget 90s Metallica anyway.
I'm glad you beat me to it. Although I would argue that Enter Sandman is neither 80s nor metal, but that's a different conversation.

OT: Color me unimpressed. Whatever is the opposite of awesome, that's what this is in my book. But to be fair, this is how I always imagined people dancing to Metallica...
That's a fair point, but most of the songs were 80s metal: Especially Back in Black, and Welcome to the Jungle. Basically, I went with the 80s label because most of the notable songs were from that decade, but I'm willing to re-label the article if it really bugs folks that much.

How would you qualify it in the headline if I were to change it?

ANNOUNCEMENT!

vansau is officially my Hero Of The Day!!

And yes, I say that without a trace of sarcasm, or irony.

There is nothing to remind you (or in this case, me) that you are falling into negative and immature patterns of communication when someone (in this case, vansau) steps up and acts like a mature adult.

To respond to your question directly, I'd call it "80s rock" or "80s pop" but I don't need anyone to agree with my definition of what is and what is not metal. My guess is that 99% of readers will agree with the genre (if not the decade ;-) and the other 1% will get over it. I know I will.

Keep up the good work!

The prophecy came true...

Aside from the shitty dancing, this video is the greatest thing I have seen in a long, long time.:D Thank you OP!

Also, the Welcome to the Jungle video is, if possible, better than the one posted here. Gotta love the subtle crack at Axl Rose.:)

It is insulting to imply that Enter Sandman came out in the 80's. Every Escapist staff member is mentally deficient.
Seriously? You thought that was a good thing to say after you got put on probation for your last comment?

Ugh. Only the most generic metal song written. I have heard "Enter Sandman" more times than I can count and only really enjoyed it the first 5 times. Not bad dancing though I guess. There are much better metal songs in existence and the fact that they chose such an overused song ruins the experience for me.

Vader just needed to play air guitar on a lightsaber, then this would have been the greatest thing ever created.
Actually I think it'd be cooler if he showed up holding just the base of the guitar, pressed that switch and the neck lightsabered out.

*tshhhh! POWER CHORD!*

You're not the only one who noticed that. While the majority of 90s Metallica sucks balls, their self-titled was still pretty classic, if in a more hard rock way rather than metal.

Agreed on the self-titled, although Load and Reload had a couple decent songs.
