Level-5 Working On New Gundam Game

Not only is Level-5 working on a new Gundam game, but it's actually helping set up a new Gundam series with Namco Bandai.

Level-5 is best-known for three things: Professor Layton, White Knight Chronicles, and its Inazuma Eleven. Now, however, the developer has a new major franchise to work on: Mobile Suit Gundam.

It was actually revealed last week that Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino is involved in the development of the story and overall framework of <a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Suit_Gundam_AGE>Mobile Suit Gundam Age, a new series "which will span the full gamut of media, including manga, anime, a toy/model line, and games."

Unsurprisingly, Namco Bandai just announced that Level-5 would be involved with a videogame based on the upcoming series. The game will be an RPG, but not much else has been revealed. On top of this, characters from the new series will be featured in the next SD Gundam G Generation game, but it's not clear if Level-5 will be involved with this.

Aside from these new games' existence, there really isn't any other information available yet, including an actual release date or the platforms they'll come out for.

Haven't liked a Gundam game since Journey to Jaburo. I played the hell out of that. I hope this game is good.

So they're making a Gundam rpg. I hope it's not turn based, a turn based Gundam game seems like it would be really dull. Of course Level-5 don't seem like the people who would do a turn based rpg game, it would probably play more like White Knight Chronicles which for a Gundam game would be pretty damn cool.

thought that dev sounds familiar, if they made white knight then i hope they hire some one else to do the writing, cause it SUCKED i white knight, game play was fun though

Also, Dragon Quest, sure they only did the last two, but those are two of the most well known games in the franchise. I'm kind of Gundam noob but sign me up for this.

There are PLENTY of 'Good' Gundam games.

We just never get them in english because Bandai thinks nobody likes Gundam, because they released M.S. Saga in English to bring new people into the gundam franchise.

And then didn't advertise for it, talk about it, and became shocked when it failed.

Bandai Namco are idiots basically.
