Watch Pro Gamers Do What They Do Best In Anaheim

Couldn't make it out to this weekend's Major League Gaming competition in Anaheim? We've got you covered.

Major League Gaming's Pro Circuit <a href=http://pro.majorleaguegaming.com/competitions/22>has come to the fair city of Anaheim for the weekend, bringing with it a slew of professional videogame players and even more spectators and unranked competitors. However, if traveling to Disneyland's hometown wasn't an option for you, you can still watch all the footage of the event as it unfolds.

This season of the Pro Circuit has three main titles in the competition: <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Call-Duty-Black-Ops-Xbox-360/dp/B003JVKHEQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1312005867&sr=1-1>Call of Duty: Black Ops, <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Halo-Reach-Xbox-360/dp/B002BSA20M/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1312005486&sr=1-1>Halo: Reach, and <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Starcraft-II-Wings-Liberty-Pc/dp/B000ZKA0J6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312005470&sr=8-1>StarCraft 2. There's a lot of highly-ranked pros competing in the event this weekend; not surprising, since there's over $1 million in prize money at stake this weekend.

This is the third of five stops for the Pro Circuit, having already taken place in Dallas, Texas, and Columbus, Ohio. After this weekend, there will be two more Circuit events before the National Championships. The next stop for the Pro Circuit will be in Raleigh, North Carolina, from August 26-28 followed by Orlando, Florida from October 14-16; the final event will take place in Providence, Rhode Island from November 18-20.

The fact that Black Ops and not CoD4 or MW2 is being used for their competition just proves how utterly pointless MLG has become.

Even those games are pointless compared to the older Quake and UT games.

Shooters as a whole are really just ego-compensation. Same goes with PvP competition of any kind.

Now let's see them get out of being outnumbered/outskilled at Dungeon Fighter Online or Zombie Mode things.

Yeah, seriously. Those were much more satisfying to watch people playing at a competitive level, at least for me. Seeing the current list of games is kind of depressing, with only SC2 really catching my interest at all. I get that the other two are popular, but I don't find them as much fun to watch as the old-school shooters were (or to play, but that's a different matter entirely). It's also a little sad to see two shooters and zero fighting games. Times have changed, I guess.

Its really annoying that both are on the same weekend. Hopefully in future EVO and MLG will work it out so they're not conflicting with one another.

On another note, SlayerSBoxer is still a beast. All hail the Emperor! :D :D :D

Such a mark out moment, talk about two quality nukes; first the fully saturated base with the perfect double pronged harass/distraction and then the emergency defensive nuke taking out all the tier 3 units for the instant GG.

Black Ops next to SC2?
That's like go-kart races next to 24 Hours of Le Mans.

I still fail to see how this is a sport? Does this mean Chess, buckaroo and Clue are also sports?

They are sports because they have competition between 2 teams or 2 individual players to achieve a main objective. And they don't involve sheer luck(unlike buckaroo and what i'm guessing is cluedo) And yes chess most definitely a sport considering it has had a world championship since at least the 1800s.
