I love these, the retro sounds are badass even today.I hope they use it in modern games it's a damn shame that the sounds we used to associate with games are no longer used.

If you know a good one please share with others here, and if you guys have any ideea, where is this music from, I would be really gratefull.

skip to 0:39 for the song

I've always wanted to hear a pop-punk or similar band who used an 8-bit synthesiser as part of their music. *cue someone linking me*

Personal favourite 8-bit music? That's a toughie but, well, Zelda theme.

Pretty much anything by Anamanaguchi.

And this 8bit remix of Hero by Machinae Supremacy is a lot of fun.

This live performance of "Mermaid" (linked above but not live) might be something you're looking for?

Nice to see another person who knows MSI!! Funny band it is. They deserve more credit, if you ask me.

OT: I like 8 bit music very much. I grew up with a C64 and always found it amazing what tunes they could make with such a basic machine.

From Classic Dungeon - Fuyoku no Masoujin. The game lets you pick from retro (8bit) music and real music.

It just got onto PSN today... but I won't be able to buy it until Friday (payday). Boo!

My current favorite 8-fit song

Even in 8-bit the songs from BlazBlue are amazing.

Look up Moon8. It's an 8-bit version of the whole Dark Side of the Moon album by Pink Floyd, consisting of all the original sheet music for the third best selling album of all time played using 8-bit sounds. Supposedly the idea was to answer the question of what Dark Side would sound like if it was made for a NES console soundtrack instead of a prog rock album, but either way it is a brilliant thing to listen to, even if you're not that fond of Pink Floyd (though you'll probably like it more if you are).

The guy who made it is offering it to download for free from his personal website here [http://rainwarrior.thenoos.net/music/moon8.html] and he also has it uploaded in six parts on Youtube (the above video being one of those parts). If you do decide to download it I'd better warn you that the guy who made it only made it in two tracks (Part 1 and Part 2) as a tribute to the LP version of the original album, so if you want the seperate songs you'll probably have to edit them yourself.

Sabrepulse also does some pretty cool stuff. He does Bit-tech: dance music made with 8-bit sounds, doing a combination of original tracks and the occasional remix as well. Very fun stuff to listen to, although most of it isn't what I would personally dance to.

Original song by :( [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nsru1YJi2rQ] (often known as 'Colon Open Bracket' or 'Sad Face').

EDIT:
