I'm working on a comparison video for the two Bayonetta games and I've been looking at the plot of the first game. The plot is fairly convoluted but there's something that doesn't make sense to me: Luka's father, Antonio.
Bayonetta was sealed away for 500 years until Antonio found and released her from the lake. Luka follows Bayonetta because he thinks she killed his father when he (Antonio) released her. During the game you meet Cereza who thinks Bayonetta is her mother only it is actually a young Bayonetta before she was sealed away. Cereza was sent to the future by Balder so she (Bayonetta) would regain her lost memories and awaken as the Left Eye so Balder can free Jubileus. Near the end of the game, Bayonetta sends Cereza back to her own time and, due to certain events of the game, it affects the future. Cereza was not sealed away for 500 years which gives Bayonetta her memries back and awakens her as the Left Eye as Balder intended.
NOW, the thing that is confusing me is why is Antonio still dead? If Cereza was not sealed away she would not have been found by Antonio and he would not have been killed by angels under Balder's orders.
I have looked into it and my understanding of the above events seems to be correct but nothing explains why Antonio remains dead. Anyone got any answers or theories?
