A few days ago I purchased a copy of Resident Evil 4 for the GameCube off of Amazon.com and since then it's all I can think about.I have the likes of Black Ops,New Vegas and Force Unleashed starring me in the face and I haven't touched them.

It's been about 5 years since I played it on the GameCube I was really sick it was my birthday and out of nowhere my mom pops out with a copy all for my sick ass.30 hours later I pretty much sweat out my sickness, what an experience I was mesmerized. So a couple years later I pick it up on the PS2 and it just wasn't the same. The recorded cut scenes really bugged me tried th PC version it's a god damn travesty(No mouse support!) and I don't own a Wii.Not only do I think the GC ver is graphically superior it also has a far more bad ass cover, yeah thats irrelevant but I'm just psyched to finally have the GC version again it's been long over due.

Well it's on the way, hopefully it'll be here by the time i wake up.What classic game have you recently re visited to try to relieve the glory of your first time?Did it do it for you or has time ravaged it as well as your experiences with modern gaming?

I just yesterday started playing Kingdom Hearts 2 again. Fortunately I had a save at the end of the Roxas section so I managed to skip all that shit.
Eh, its not bad. I do remember it being a little more vibrant I suppose but I can jsut fuck with the colour on my TV. And sure its not as crisp as I remember but they never are.
The combat is still fun and the characters amusing and it was much needed after the non stop grey-on-greyathon of New Vegas.
I know what you mean after playing New Vegas I just feel depressed.

I've recently gone back and played some old games. Kingdom hearts 1 among them. I apparently liked it when I was 15. I cannot tolerate it now.

But more recently! Quest 64! ...I even made a video of my experiences. Which it's on my Youtube channel.....If you've played the game, you should laugh pretty hard....if not, you'll stare blankly at my creation...scratch your head, and move on.

But yeah Quest 64 was just like I remember! Only I sucked less. ...and knew what was going on. ...and had fun.

I played Ocarina of Time not too long ago.

It was better than when I first played it as I could get past the 3rd dungeon this time... My little brain couldn't cope with every room looking identical...

I went through a phase a couple of months ago where I played Silent Hill 2, 3 and 4 pretty much back to back and then moved on to Resident Evil 1 and 2 (both on playstation 1)and RE: Zero on the Wii, I just needed a horror game fix and I ended up overdoing it, but it was fun to replay them and I even jumped a few times at things I'd forgotten...

I re-brought Spyro 2 and 3. First realisation was how easy they were, I must have sucked at games as a kid, I managed to 100% spyro 2 in about 10 hours but it was a really fun colourful 10 hours unlike a shooters campaign.

Man that sounds awesome I'm jealous.I tried that with Silent Hill but I'm having problems getting 2 to run on my comp didn't feel like going through the motions so I just went ahead and bought Amnesia, have you got around to it yet?I'm really looking forward to playing it when I get the place to myself one of these nights

It was awesome, especially playing RE1 and 2 again and hearing all the cringe-worthy dialogue.
I actually haven't played Amnesia, I don't have a good enough computer to run it :( I have heard nothing but good things about it though, it sounds like it's a pretty scary game...

Few days ago I received a copy of Star Ocean: The Second Evolution for PSP. Granted, it is a remake of the old classic on PSone, but essentially nothing has changed. Another oldie but goldie on my PSP is Vagrant Story. I own it for PSone as well, but I like to have good games with me when I'm on the move.

One more old game I recently acquired is Silent Hill 2. I remember owning it before, but trading it away after playing it through. Little while ago I felt like I wanted to play a true horror game after that abortion of a horror game RE5, so now I'm revisiting Silent Hill 2 after a long while. And damn, I still can't play that game if lights are off...

The latest one? Hmm. Well the best game I've ever played for nostalgia and just pure fun would be the We <3 Katamari game. It's for the PS2, which my mother sold when we bought our Wii, but I couldn't bring myself to sell that particular game, it's still on my shelf.

I would play it if I had a PS2, but I don't, so. I occasionally play pokémon and stuff though, but I only have Heart Gold, Saphire is broken and refuses to save my game, so I have to start over all the time.

The most recent game however, would be Saints Row 2, that game reminded me slightly off Midtown Madness that was my favorite game when I was... well, smaller.

I vote for sleep but if you insist on playing through RE2 go as Leon, he has the better end of the story I think...

Well, I figured since all my friends were playing Black Ops and I wanted no part of that, I started to play Call of Duty: Finest Hour again. I love that game.

The few times I have went back to play nostalgic games I have been disappointed. This is the reason I have skipped on getting Morrowind again. I want the fondness of the game to remain pure and untouched. :D

haHA! I actually did the exact same thing. Got out my old Gamecube to play Resident Evil 4, one of my favorite games of all time, a few weeks ago. Still good as ever. It's really wierd comparing it to RE5...it's shit in comparison (RE5 obviously) even though the controls are better and the graphics are better...it just doesn't play as well.

Megaman 2, It is awesome fun and I think i'll probably attempt the game once a year for the rest of my life, great levels and hard because it's well designed not because of dodgy controls (i'm looking at you 3D platformers)
