You can't help that you like what you like. It's not offending, it's only people overreacting. It does, however, get offending when you say to a girl you're going out with: "Sorry, your melons are the wrong size".

I agree with most of the reactions stating that there's some insecurity in your coworker. Couple that with a dose of immaturity, I'm guessing. If you can't abide something like another person's preference in physical attraction then you probably have some kind of personal issue.

OR...maybe your coworker is nursing a crush on you? Hearing the person you are crushing on stating a preference that you don't meet the requirements for is a surefire way to cook up a big ol' pot of angst.

Maybe I'm just talking out of my butt on both statements, but judging people on attractiveness alone WOULD be shallow. Stating a preference for a specific body type, though...that's just the way people are.

your co-worker sounds like an insecure *****.

amirite?
this. she really has no buisness trying to influence you to feel bad because you preffer a certain body type. I like girls that are thinner with a smaller bust and sort of fey looking.

Oh, I figured she was just a bit insecure to react that way - its just that its not the only you've seen or heard of this kind of thing happening.

Why shouldn't we?

I mean, being the possesors of said body part should make it a bit easier to talk about...
