OK, I thought I'd give the members of the escapist a small challenge, here's the scoop.

I am blessed, my current girlfriend is a gamer, she loves Dragon Age, Fallout, Infamous, Oblivion, Pokemon & The Monkey Island games, but they're all single player (Pokemon is heavily single player and shes casual there where as I'm obsessed). We spend loads of time together, like at least 4 days a week, so I thought it wwould be nice if we could play something together that's layed back and easy, I don't want to be telling her what to do constantly and have upset if she dies.

Can anyone name me a split-screen multiplayer game on the out on the PS3 or PSN that is:
> NOT a FPS
> NOT a sports game
> NOT Dynasty Warriors related
> half decent, graphics don't have to be amazing but the gameplay is key

OR

Can anyone name me a low end PC multiplayer game, as the laptop is an Aspire 5000 and well, need I say more (My PC is lik a monolith), that is:
> NOT a FPS
> NOT a Sports game
> NOT a stratagy game
> Still half decent, again graphics I'm not so concerned about, but the gameplay needs to be simple
> LAN capable

To any that take up this challenge, especially the PS3 side of things, thank you

How about fighters? You can also try any co-op game, but I can't think of any on the top of my head right now.

The lego games? You've got your pick of Star Wars, Indiana JOnes, Batman and Harry Potter when it comes to the subject matter. And I second LBP and confirm it does have co-op.

Little Big Planet? Not sure if it is co-op, but it is awesome.
This is a good suggestion, it's really casual and easy to play. Me and my brother played it in co-op and it was fun. Also, is she a fan of Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman or Harry Potter? If so, you could consider a Lego game, they're quite fun in a similar way too. If you're PC can run Guild Wars you could try that too, there's loads of content and it's even more fun when you're playing with someone.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Great Co-Op fun.

Try Diablo 2 for PC. It's fun and easy for lan.

And, it's a shooter but it's third person, Army of Two and Army of Two: The 40th Day.

I'm not much for shooters, but we (my girlfriend and I) play a lot of AoT

No FPS games or Strategy games eh? Well that's extremely limiting for me... I'm also going to have to say Little Big Planet, simply because my girlfriend is the last person you'd find playing a game and she loves that one. Either that or if you have a Wii, the Mario Karts and the Super mario Wii games are also fun to play with the gf.

The User-Map-Settings games in Starcraft aren't all strategic, in fact I've played some pretty awesome co-op maps where the theme was action, horror, rpg, and various other sorts. It's lan supportive, and by playing this UMS games, you might be able to slowly ease her into strategy games... Unless it's you that doesn't like strategy of course. Then I must say disregard this suggestion xD!

Herd so much about it, but, it's a game I'm still not sold on, I'll try it over my friends first then I might get it.

Maybe one or two fighters, she quite liked UFC, but still wanted something more co-operitive.

Never played a lego game, might have to try a demo or two

It's not a liking or disliking of stratagy games, if the difference in play level, she enjoys Age of Mythology on her PC on Easy, I take Total War, Total Annihilation and others on hard, if we teamed together online it would be difficult to find fitting opponents, if we go against the PC she'll get crushed by a hard bot unless it's placed near me and it's not really playing together, want a story or something to go through, as for FPS, Fallout 3 is as close to FPS as either of us like

I often played Heroes of Might and Magic (3) with my little sister on my PC. It is a turn-based strategy game but it is simple to learn and has elfs and unicorns. And it is cheep, and runs on anything!

On the PS3 I would recomend a driving game, maybe something funny, like Mario Kart on the nintendo?
