Have you seen it? What are your thoughts on it, a disgusting film portraying violence for the sake of violence, or a masterpiece of cinema, providing a thought-provoking message of morality.

Or obviously anything in between, these are just the two extremes.

It's a good film, and it does push a (ravenous, abominable and violent) envelope. The book is very good, as well. But I won't touch them with a ten-foot pole again.

But, I still think they should just have kicked Alex out the courtyard and had him shot.

I adored both the movie and book. Both were fantastic. Utterly horrifying though.

Also, was it just me, or did the last chapter of the book (the one removed in the first American version for being too happy) actually seem more depressing?

On a side note, I was Alex for the most recent Halloween. I even memorized Nadsat, and spoke like him too.

Talked about quite a lot, this one, when it came out.

I thought it had a lot of real positives, but that didn't make it any less difficult to watch from start to finish.

Much preferred his other films
Yeah, I feel the same way. Though I appreciate the artistry behind it, I hated watching it. I sort of feel similarly towards most of 2001 as well.

I think it's a brilliant film, though I can see why many people don't like it. We like to all get together every so often and watch a couple of Kubrick films, it's one of out favourites.
