I'm running a Win7 64Bit Home Edition Desktop.

Just want to make a straight swap and I'm not sure whether I can.

Does your motherboard support a LGA1155 type socket?

I don't think so, If the CPU is correct (the i3) then no because it is a LGA1156 Socket

Yeah like mad says I'm pretty sure you are using the older version of i3 and that is socket 1156 and therefor you cannot use a i7 2600k (link is broken so Im guessing) since it need a 1155 mobo
